Danielle Hunter had 4.5 sacks in 3 seasons at LSU (best year 3 sacks).
Was Hunter a bad player at LSU or did he have bad coaching?
Hunter made tackles and had a very good Jr year, afterwards he declared for the draft. He was good and probably would have been elite his sr year.
He was a 3rd round pick and had been projected as a 1st, 2nd rounder. He didn’t suck.
Here is a projection blurb…
Projected Round (2015): 1-2. I don’t mind this choice. Danielle Hunter could be in the first-round mix this April, but will probably go in the second frame. He could’ve returned to bolster his draft stock and solidify his first-round status, but he may get there will some great workouts.

I firmly believe he was severely limited by injury. The coaching malpractice was having him play against the instate schools in September. MVB was no special generational talent but I doubt he would have lost either game. Giving Nuss some time to rest and recover.

well, that’s certainly one opinion.

If this was the case, players would be coming out of the woodwork stating these facts. Not a peep. No one has even weighed in on this besides Nussmeier, positively or negatively. You know there’s a lot of Kelly hate around LSU football so why no talk?
Very strange.

Nuss was a bust, don't give a shite about his NFL future, he was raised for this opportunity and will get a shot because of his name, others have checked out on us way before NIL was legal, Harvey Williams, Wendell Davis et al

I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt with Kelly and Sloan. He also had an injury mixed in there this year. I think some people need to let it go.

Then it really falls to that interloping tub of lard, Brian Kelly who was. complete waste of time, energy and money here.

That's all good, but why - when healthy - he refused to run on the run option. Yet, when he is in the senior bowl - all of a sudden - he's a runner.

With that all said - he's not a NFL QB. He's a good backup option
Backup quarterbacks are not NFL QB's? Nuss won't make it past day 2 of the draft.

He won't go in the 1st, but he damn sure won't be around for the Third. Stock rose this weekend at the senior bowl IMO.

I think he could be a good NFL QB in the right system with a good OL with a good run game. There have been plenty of QB's in this era that were not fast and didn't scramble. But you have to be smart, work on film and put in the time.
He had a great year in 24 with a good pass protection OL. The drop off in 25 was due to him being hurt, terrible OL in pass protection and running, then a bad OC that couldn't be creative in play calling to help the OL make the defenses guess somewhat.

Nuss is a great QB
Nuss was low-IQ in 2024 when he was healthy and in a better situation with the OL and offense.
2025 became a perfect storm of disaster, unfortunately for him.
I like the kid and wish him the best, but he has a lot of work to do to get to a “great QB”.
He’s got physical and confidence tools to get there. He’s a few years of work away and I hope he gets in the right system to get there.

Wendell Davis
When did he check out? He and Hodson were awesome. He was awesome as a Pro also, until he screwed up both knees.

I felt horrible for Nuss and several of the receivers, especiallly Hilton.
Nuss not being able to fling it deep like we have done so many times allowed the defenses to play up and kept us from spreading the field . We really needed to be able to spread the field to help our inferior O line.
We have seen what Hilton can do with the deep ball and that made him basically a non existent part of our offense, when we should have been seeing his 2024 bowl performance all season.
Nuss toughed it out because he knew he was the best option and Hilton played hard on special teams and neither of them complained, so I give both guys tons of credit for being team players

Is it just me or does it throw up a red flag anytime anyone feels the need to start the statement telling us they are being honest? are you lying to us the rest of the time? Kind of like a gas station advertising clean bathrooms. shouldn't have to do that, they should be clean anyway. Whew, glad I got that out. y'all have a great day.

Kiffin just showed that it can be done.

I’m calling it now that Nuss will be no llater than the 3rd QB taken in this draft and by the early 3rd and will stick with his team

7,699 yards in only 23 starts. Hodson, the all-time leader had nearly double the number of starts, and game appearances.
I look at Nuss and I see a pro athlete in waiting.
