I don’t think many people will really care about his SEC record if they can make the NCAAT this year

Oddly enough, as bad as we are right now, Kentucky is kind of a mess too. It wouldn’t surprise me if we pulled of an upset tonight. It also wouldn’t surprise me if we lost by 15+ though.

It won’t be a typical Kentucky game crowd. I’ve never seen so many good seats for sale on SeatGeek all below face value.

If Kentucky decides to press we have no shot at winning.

I get off at 5, 2 hours away. Unusually go to the Kentucky game. I’ll be watching.

Poor ole Matt. Seems to be the only coach that has to deal with injuries.

Since you know so much about other team's injuries how about you tell us which players of the caliber of Jalen Reed have been lost for the season by other SEC teams last season and this season? How many players of the caliber of Dedan Thomas missed as many as five games by SEC teams in during the same time?

McMahon is paid handsomely to figure it out.

Better start winning. Tick tock tick tock…

They’re handing out “nice guy” bonus points for tonight’s game.

LSU is up by 10 at the moment.

I’m more interested in what caliber of player is Jalen Reed. He’s been hurt the past two years. Prior to that he wasn’t exactly playing like a 4 star recruit should play.

Since the 1971-72 season, LSU has historically exceeded expectations in home basketball games vs Kentucky. I think the Tigers have actually won a majority of these games.

I'm playing advocate's devil here-- LSU covers their (+4) spread and wins the game outright tonight.

Let’s rock, tigers! Reece with career high points or assist. Nwoko with another double double. King with 3/3 from the field. Tamba 3 blocks, and Sutton and mck rain down from 3.

well Kentucky's good point guard is also out, now apparently for the season, with a bad shoulder.

Injuries happen. Of course, some are more impactful than others, but the coaching staff is paid millions to adapt their scheme and tactics to the players they have. Simply plugging in other players to the exact same scheme, when it doesn't fit their skill set, is malpractice.

If you look at that table, it appears LSU is well positioned for a twofer -- home wins v Kentucky and Missouri. Kentucky is just 10-6 overall and 1-5 vs Quad 1 (worse than LSU). Missouri appears to be a little worse than LSU.

This situation could go in three different directions:

1) LSU upsets Kentucky, carryover effect to Missouri game

2) LSU loses close to Kentucky, and Missouri becomes a USCe redux

3) LSU gets trounced both games.

When you are 14-43 in SEC regular season games I don't think you are ever "well positioned" for wins. That aside, this week very well could be McMahon's last stand. Given 8 SEC wins is probably the MINIMUM amount wins LSU needs to be in the NCAAT discussion, the path to those 8 seems very unlikely if they don't get a win (preferably two) this week considering the following two games are @ Florida and @ Arkansas.

An 0-7 start to SEC play means LSU would have to rally to finish 8-3. That doesn't seem very likely.
