Yeah idiot...I was watching Mcdonald pitch back in the day. I dgaf if we are #1 or not as long as top 8....was just saying we haven't been in position to be 1 in a while this year and finishing like we appear to be might put us there. Of course, some younger edgy punk gonna act like an idiot. Guarantee seen more and been to more LSU baseball games than you, probably at least twice as many. I've seen you post on here...you one of the little emotional bitches when losing.
You calling anyone else emotional here is pretty ironic

Here’s a good article deep-dive into tournament seeding over the years by the way…

In a sport as wildly unpredictable as baseball, just how important is seeding when it comes to paving a path to the Men's College World Series? One part to the answer: No. 1 regional seeds have accounted for just under 75% of all MCWS participants since the NCAA baseball tournament's current format was introduced in 1999. So, do the top-ranked teams have a fast track to Omaha? According to the data, more often than not, yes. But does the team at the very top of the rankings always win it all? History says no. We'll get to that later. First, let's review the tournament format:

Probably won't have the RPI for that. SOS isn't strong enough. Besides, often times that #16 seed that you pair up with in the SR got hot at the end of the season just in time to host a regional. Not typically a team you want to play

Matchups are way more important than claiming the #1 overall seed.

They seed 1 through 16.
But only the top 8 are guaranteed to host a Super Regional.

#1 seeds historically have not faired well at winning it all. Top 8 and home field to get to Omaha is really what matters.

isn't #1 seed a curse? I'd rather not have it. Has anyone who was #1 won anything? at least recently? feels like a curse.

Tennessee did last year

Before they seeded 1-16 i would have agreed with this.. all else being equal id rather be paired up with the 16 vs the 9.
Although catching a hot team could happen from 1-8.
Could not care less about the #1 curse. It has to end some time and we've never been #1.
With Hoover being a max of 3 games im less worried about fatigue as well. Lets win out

So with Tennessee’s win 2 overall #1 seeds have won. No other seed has more than 3. It’s no better or worse to be a #1 seed. It just shows the relatively random nature of who wins it all.

With how volatile and imperfect the college baseball ranking/seeding process is, there is little guarantee that the 9 is significantly better than the 16.
All I want is a top 8 and not be paired with an SEC team

I just want LSU and Texas on opposite sides of the bracket. Only chance to meet up would be both teams making it all the way to the finals where the Tigers can get some revenge for that series in Austin.

There’s an obvious benefit to 1 versus 8.
Potentially UC Irvine in a super regional instead of Jamie Arnold and Florida State.

if we get to 19 wins, can we skip Hoover? Or treat it like a midweek.
Or try to win it?

I appreciate the recognition a #1 is. Amd I don’t know the numbers but it seems rare that the #1 wins it all. 2-4 would be nice. I do think if they finish like you say…depending on Texas..there is a shot at #1.

I wasn't saying I wanted it, but I'm not against it either. I don't believe in that jinx shite. I was just saying they sweep today and win the series next week they will fi ish #2 in the sec to a struggling Texas. That's definitely grounds for a top 3 seed if not 1.

Only #1 I care about happens on June 24th
