I hate Alabama and A&M on an unhealthy level.

But Florida is easily # 3. I hate Florida.

That fog kick was one of the coolest college football plays that I will ever remember! The fog was dense and the lights were bright making it even harder to see.... Awesome!!

Florida has all of the resources in the world to be great, and they just constantly underperform.

Yeah I don’t know about all that, the fact of the matter is they just haven't recruited at a high enough level to compete for a championship since Meyer left.

And the kick in the fog will always be super cool.

It's more than "super cool". That might be the best kick in LSU history. 57 yards, the longest in LSU history, into the fog to win the game!

I remember being pissed Orgeron mismanaged the possession and after the gift from Florida and settled for a fricking 57 yard FG! LSU had the ball 1st & 10 at the Florida 40 yard line with 1:00 to go. Another 10 yards makes it a much more manageable FG. Especially in those conditions.

Florida had all of their TOs left. So what does the LSU brain-trust do. Run the ball twice for a net gain of 2 yards. But worse, they call TOs after each run!!! They didn't even force Florida to use their TOs. They then lose a yard on a terrible pass play to set up a 57 yard FG. From 1st & 10 at the 40 to gaining one Goddamn yard. Luckily, York bailed them out with an incredible kick. Even then, because Orgeron decided to call TOs on the final possession, Florida was left with two TOs that allowed them to get in position to try a game-tying FG.

I would think the state of the Florida program has more to do with bad coaching/bad recruiting/late to the NIL table and other such issues that normally plague once great programs than one player throwing a shoe for a penalty.

yeah but none of those things are as funny as a guy throwing a shoe.

It was incredible for sure. It’s hard to say how much different it looked through the cameras vs. actually being on the field, but I remember not even being able to see the goal posts when they showed the wire camera view from behind the LOS.

And then there was the referee’s announcement on the personal foul when he said something like “personal foul, defense, throwing the LSU player’s shoe 15 yards down the field” or something ridiculous like that.

Such a memorable game.

Even after the shoe throw we were a couple feet away from going to OT and perhaps losing this game. Orgeron was terrible.

Very interesting as the same can be said about LSU when Texas A&M ran i kickoff back for a TD at Kyle dukes in the early 90’s I think. LSU after that kickoff return went down very quickly to a 2-9 season.

Literally it is still one of the funniest causes for victory. We literally won because a dumbass decided to throw a shoe 15 yds down field after he made the play to stop us on third down lmfao. Just hilarious.

Florida has been complete arse since then. They had a playoff berth on the line that night when we beat them in the shoe fog game and they’ve had a losing record ever since. Given their schedule the next couple years they’re looking at 5 straight losing seasons since then and don’t even remember when they last beat LSU. 2017?

Last time they beat LSU was 2018. That’s not the point though. You’re reading comprehension is failing you again.

I replied specifically to your comment about how Florida was unmotivated against Bama in the SEC championship game that season. That’s completely wrong because Florida came just a couple of plays away from beating Bama that night when no one else in college football came anywhere close to beating them that year. It is a very lazy and disingenuous take to suggest that Florida was not motivated that night because of their loss to LSU the week before. They obviously wanted to win very badly against Bama and gave it their best shot.

Everything else you said was true, but that one specific comment was not.

Shooting the breeze w coworkers about our teams next year. I told the Florida dude I think the key to their teams improvement is to not throw any shoes, he didn't like that lol

Imagine how perfect that kick would have been had it been a walk off field goal like it should have been

Second Flaida program broken by the Tigers this millennium.

The U has never been right since that 40-3 Peach Bowl beat down in 2005

To realize how wrong this is just ask yourself, which team broke LSU such that we had a terrible decade in the 1990's? None. We just sucked because we made bad coaching hires.

We didn't ruin Miami's program. They were going downhill, and we exposed that.

My only beef with that video is the YouTuber makes that year’s LSU team seem worse than they were. We had flashes of being a great team that year. Biggest issue I remember with that squad was they were very inconsistent, especially on defense, where we had guys who seemed to just kind of quit sometimes.
