"Zero data"? How about relying on 40+ years of experience & 4 national championships?? I'll take our HOF coach's decisions over a clown's who has never coached a SEC game /any women's game. But the claim that she's protecting her image simply shows the stupidity of some ranters here. Talk to any media member who has been around her & they'll laugh their arse off. The movie Dumb & Dumber applies to the idiots here.

Z suspended 1-game for disciplinary reason. Not academics related, has 3.7 gpa. Haven't heard the reason.

Let us take a look at some of the other games today and yesterday....
#24 Michigan State playing 4-5 Indiana State
#20 Notre Dame playing 2-10 Bellarmine
#19 USC playing 8-4 Cal
#18 North Carolina playing 2-10 Charleston Southern
#23 Nebraska playing 6-7 California Baptist
#2 Texas playing 10-4 South Dakota State
#22 Washington playing 5-6 Pacific
#4 UCLA played 0-10 Long Beach State
#3 South Carolina played 3-6 Florida Gulf Coast
That is a lot of cupcakes. The only "good" games were
$11 Iowa plated #1 UConn and #17 Tenn played #16 Louisville.
Why do some posters act like CKM is the only one that schedules like this. Hell, it isn't her fault Duke crapped their pants, they were ranked preseason.
The OOC schedule is irrelevant with the conference schedule.

Kim Mulkey is the only basketball coach at LSU to win a national championship and fans question her scheduling!
If I were a season ticket holder, I’d question why I didn’t get to see better games. It’s the natural thing to do.

IF I was a season ticket holder I'd trust CKM to make the right decisions re her teams' scheduling. Because I'd probably seen her teams enough TO trust her.

They don't seem to have any problem selling tickets and the season ticket holders seem pretty happy to me.

Maybe they are. I’m not, but when I use to have Men’s tickets I’d long to see us play good teams in the PMAC like we once did.
That’s me. Others might disagree. That’s fine.

This. Plus it has been shown over the years that LSU has been penalized majorly for any loss. The committee frowns on it. We have been under seeded every single year minus Kims first year here. IMO Kim would have been to one more final four so far with a better non conference schedule. Unless you go undefeated LSU will not be a 1 seed. There is a huge advangtage making to the final four as a 1 seed.
I know Kim can do no wrong on here but IMO its an old school line of thinking that she needs to change. Obviously, I could be wrong.
I understand what you're trying to say here. However, she has explained her scheduling philosophy ad nauseum in her press conferences. Yes, would we like to see her schedule a FEW more higher ranked teams, but it's really irrelevant because of the conference schedule they play. I know it's not what people want to hear, but she has stated this MANY times. In terms of NCAA seeding, she has also stated all she cares about is getting a top 4 seed so that they get two home games. That's it. So, if you're expecting her to schedule more tough games in November and December, because the "fans" want to see it.......................................it ain't gonna happen.
I think, rather than any of us continuing to question the scheduling, we should just enjoy these preseason games in anticipation for the REAL season to start. Other teams believe in scheduling VERY tough in the preseason, but not many of them.........save for UConn............have had more success than Mulkey's teams.

Kim once scheduled tough games. Baylor did well anyway.
You can schedule better and win and you can schedule light and win. As a fan I would prefer better because it’s more entertaining that way.
But some might not care. That’s their prerogative, but it doesn’t help the sport grow financially.

Have friends who have been season tickets holders every year since Kim arrived. They go to most of the games and happy no matter who we play and happy Kim is our coach. Haven't heard them complain about anything other than if we lost.

The 8 home games in SEC play include Kentucky, Texas, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee. Those games alone are worth the price of season tickets. PMAC is going to be LIT for all of them.

Exactly! The preseason games really don't matter. I'd love for us to schedule some tough games in the preseason, but that's for "entertainment purposes only". Ultimately, all that mattes are conference games for teams in the SEC.

To date, I've been to games against Tulane, UNO, La Tech and UT Arlington. Since it's the holidays, I was gonna splurge and get my lady & I tix to South Carolina & Texas in the PMAC this season. Then I looked at the seat geek/vivid prices.
For SC, nosebleed seats: $150...mid-tier: $850...front row: $2,600
For Texas, nosebleed: $105...mid-tier: $650...front row: $1,900
I'm not prepared to pay anywhere from $510 to $9,000 for two seats/two games that could both very well end up as losses & have a couple of sour 1.5 hour drives back to NOLA with a disappointed GF. That Coach purse is looking like a more reliable gift.

The only plausible reason for Kim's dreadful OOC schedule is she is scared to drag down her career 85% win percentage.
Looks like a solid 11 up votes including yours in support of these ridiculous negative posts about this years solid women's BB team. Must be Kim Mulkey haters.

Geno, Summitt, Staley… all tards?
23 national titles. They schedule marquee out of conference games. 1) you truly learn which players on your team you can trust. 2) the players learn by playing legit competition. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY 3) it grows the game., it gets eyeballs on the product. Look at this game thread, 4 posts about the game, about 5 asking about a player injury/suspension, and the rest us arguing over scheduling. Go look up the Duke game thread, it’s 8 pages of game discussion plus multiple threads started about the game.
Kim Mulkey has yet to win a SEC regular season title at LSU, and perhaps the charmin soft non conference schedule leads to that. Schedule a few better games in November or December and you might pick up an extra loss or two, but it might save you a loss or two in SEC play. And the NCAA selection committee might give you credit instead of under seeding the team each year.

Most of the ranked teams playing other ranked teams in the the non-conference are playing them at neutral sites anyway. So you wouldn't be seeing them in the PMAC.

In Kim I trust! I kind of figure that she knows more about how to coach this team than anyone else on this board does. Probably why she getting paid the big bucks to do the job. I think her track record is proof enough of continuing success. Apparently the top notch player's she has recruited agree.
