It's not a sport. It's a beauty contest.

Tigers would win hands down if so.

I don't know nearly enough about the technical parts of these routines to even try to guess at it.
unless one has an obvious stumble or fall, I don't see a whole lot of difference from one routine to the other. they all look pretty good to me.

From what I understand about college versus Olympic, Olympic gymnastics rewards attempting more difficult skills and doing them less than perfect over doing “easier” skills perfectly.

Listening to my wife, this type of scoring would hurt Oklahoma and would help LSU and Alabama

Olympic scoring would only help teams that are full of elite gymnasts. There just aren't enough of those. I think Olympic scoring would hurt NCAAs a lot!

Go to Olympic scoring and you will see girls falling all over the place. Personally, I'd rather see a super clean routine. You do the required elements and you do them very, very well. Don't do extra because it just can get deductions.

I say it every Olympics. Any sport relying solely on judge scores sucks arse.

Yep. It makes it way too easy to cheat. Case in point was the finale of the ice dance event at the Olympics where the Americans got screwed out of the gold medal by the French and their judge.

That’s like your opinion ma’am.

Maybe the college scoring could be a blend of NCAA and Olympics. If you do an “easy” routine on beam, a balance check is 0.1 point deduction, no question. An egregious balance check/stumble 0.3 point deduction no question asked

Or something like that. Basically make it possible for you to get a 10 if you’re perfect on any routine but take fewer points off for minor errors on more difficult skills

Codify it so teams don’t get screwed.

That’s the best reason imaginable.

Why does it seem like Oklahoma makes the same mistakes as LSU but has a higher score?

Maybe their mistakes were not as bad?

I’ll watch and hope they fall that’s the only way I know they won’t score a .975
