No I'm not. I love making money. That's not a crime, but it should be a crime to be as big of a dumbass as you are.

Everyone is a market timing expert with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight.

The stock market will be higher in 5 years than it is today. Thats always the bet. Just keep investing consistently.

But you did miss a huge opportunity on Monday. Don’t be a pussy next time.

One day doth not a trend make.

This morning quite likely will drop.

vs TR 2X Long VIX Futures ETF (UVIX)
51.92 -40.45 (-43.79%) 04/09/25 [NYSE Arca]
60.02 x 1 60.26 x 1 Pre-market 60.24 +8.32 (+16.02%)

You can't time the market. You can't buy at the high. You can't sell at the low. You'll never know when that will be.

Stock market crashes—sharp, sudden drops in prices—tend to be followed by recoveries over time. The pattern holds because crashes often stem from panic, overvaluation, or economic shocks, but markets adapt. Companies innovate, governments intervene, and investor confidence rebuilds. Data backs this: the S&P 500’s long-term average annual return, including crashes, is around 10% since 1926. No crash has permanently tanked a major index.

If you dollar cost average (DCA) over time in solid index funds or ETFs, you'll come out ahead. Something like Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VTI) or Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO) for example. Maybe you'd put like 25% if a riskier, higher upside ETF, like Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) for example.

Was just curious if you were planning on moving that 12% back into the stock market at some point when things settle down, if so, I'd have really questioned that decision. If you're thinking about moving it into some other type of vehicle, makes more sense.

Mostly to reposition. We put some funds into a venture capital fund for the first time because I’m always open to new and exciting ways to lose money on things I don’t understand.

Had bought in a little on Tuesday as I continued my DCAing of late... Didn't buy in yesterday, but went ahead and bought in again today after seeing the negative turn.

Yesterday showed real signs that the market could explode once this whole tariff thing is settled so I'm gonna double down on DCAing until then.
