re: With Indiana’s historic run, how long does everyone think Cignetti will be IU’s coach?

He is too late in his career to change it up in my opinion. He would just be wasting time to rebuild somewhere else. He could cement a legacy as a legend in college football at Indiana.

He’s 64 years old and is king of that castle. He’s not going anywhere.
Also seems way cooler to me to instill Indiana of all places as a CFB power than go be the ___nth successful coach somewhere “bigger.”

He’s rather build and maintain that program. Although I will say that the autistic Mexican qb is leaving so who knows what happens

He’d be a fool to go to another school. Indianas stadium / field will don his name if he stays. Statues, buildings, he’s that guy for them.
But I could see a stone cold killer like him wanting to see if he can take his program to the pros too. I hope the raiders throw him a $200MM bag and we find out.

Upper deck tickets for title game going for $4000 each
Think about all the $ you wound have already spent to follow your team to top it off with $10000 just for tickets before you book flights and hotels

NFL could be interesting, but he seems to have the formula for the portal and NIL era.
Sure. Bringing your entire prior team from JMU who are now all age 25 doesn’t necessarily mean it’s figured out

.if I had to guess, at Cig’s age and with Indiana being the place to finally give him his shot at the biggest levels of CFB, he’ll stay loyal to IU
I think he will stay but not because of loyalty but age and that he seems content. Coaches don’t need to make decisions for loyalty reasons because the school isn’t going to show them loyalty if they start losing.

Buckeye fans got rid of Harbaugh. Accused Michigian of Cheating. Thought if they got rid of them then they have free reign of the Big Ten. Then here comes squeaky clean Indiana.
OSU fan "How long u think cignetti stays?". Cause we can't accuse them of cheating so we really need the guy to f off so we can dominate a weak Big Ten again. LOL

Seems like the kind of guy that would rather stay at Indiana and stick it to all the schools that passed him over.
Who passed him over exactly? He was a career low level assistant until he took a really low level job and worked his way up. Took a long route but not like he was interviewing for big time gigs and getting told no his whole career

Burrows was 23 when he was drafted. I never hear anyone mentioning that when referring to him as "The GOAT."
Mendoza just turned 22 in October.

IU is his last coaching stop. What exactly does he have to prove that must be proven at an "established" program?
Posted on 1/11/26 at 10:52 am to Muahahaha
If they win he should retire, he'd be one of the most fascinating figures in sports history
