Just finished the episode. I'm curious to see where it goes on the back half,
I had to look up the number of episodes the show had because I was like surely this isn’t the finale right?

I don’t understand why the two chicks snuck off to hide in the rocks, swim underwater to the dam, scaled the dam and then rappelled back down the dam only to end up at the exact same spot at the exact same time as the other 4 dudes who snuck in.

They set up a communications scrambler before zip lining down to the rendezvous.

I took it as AKs being a typical "rebel" weapon in our world and giving it to the rebels in the SW universe.
This show is fantastic. So different from every other show/movie they've done lately. Episode 6 was a great payoff episode. I'm kind of sad the former stormtrooper and lieutenant went out without much fanfare, but I guess that's how it goes. I didn't expect the kid to make it. I thought the white guy would double-cross sooner in the mission.

I was kinda hoping the ex-stormtrooper would live too. It would be cool to have a point of view perspective on stormtroopers in one of these shows. This one being the most well-written of the Disney stuff would have made for an interesting look into the mind of the “average” space nazi.

A few questions
Who was the tribe ?
Were the black lieutenant and Indian girl supposed to stay back?

The Lieutenant was killed and the other girl disappeared into the hills.

They are the natives of the planet. They said they used to have 1500 people make the pilgrimage to that spot to witness the eye. The empire put taverns and other things along the trail to distract the natives and keep so many from coming.

We kinda already got the black former stormtrooper in Finn. I don't really need to see that again

Who?
What?
I have no idea what you’re talking about.
I remember something about a sexually aroused sea donkey and green milk, but that’s about it.

The two women climbed up to install a jamming device outside of the comm tower to block Imperial communications. They show the device a couple of times, they show Imperials up on top of the dam complaining about the comms not working and wondering if it's because of the meteor storm, and they also tell the Commandant that the only comms that work are theirs and if he doesn't do what they say someone will radio up and have his family executed.

The natives of the planet. That structure by the base is their sacred temple that they travel to in order to celebrate the Eye every time it comes.

Indian girl yes, I don't think the black lieutenant was planning on it or he wouldn't have revealed himself to the Commandant as being part of the plan, but he got killed so I guess we'll never know.

IIRC, they stole 80 million credits, right?
Is that heist significant enough to bankroll a rebellion? (ie: buy and/or refurbish x-wings, y-wings, mon calamari cruisers, hammerhead corvettes, guns/uniforms, hidden bases, etc.)

Since, at the time, you could buy a light freighter for about 20,000 credits, 80,000,000 is a significant amount.

And I think, THINK, the Mon Calamari were openly committed to the revolution. They'd either win, or would get Death Star'd. I think they were the only capital ships the Rebellion had.

Han Solo was promised 17,000 credits by Obi Wan for helping them. Luke says they could buy their own ship for 10,000.
If we assume 1 imperial credit = 1 dollar when star wars came out, that means 1 imperial credit is now 5.5 dollars, so 80 million credits is $440,000,000. A modern F18 costs $66 million, which may be equivalent to an x-wing.

I'm really liking this show so far. One thing that bothers me. It's kinda stupid but, when they were practicing marching in formation for the heist, Cassian corrected the guy giving the orders about the guns all facing outward. Then it's revealed later that he was a former stormtrooper. How the hell does a stormtrooper not know how to march in formation?

Ep.7 is up.
This episode didn't have the action of the mid-season episode & has returned to the slow-burn (which I don'tmind), but man, was this one well-acted!
Lots of intense egg-shell walking after the heist with the Empire tightening their grip & every single actor brings the appropriate gravitas. If I had to choose a standout, it's probably between the scenes with Mon Mothma, Andor's step-mom, or all of the Imperial council, but then I'm leaving out Skarsgard, Cassian, and the over-ambitious ex-Imperial inspector. They were all great.

I just caught up on this show, its pretty maddening how much better done this is (a show about a character no one knows or cares about) than Obi Wan was, which looked like the B team was working on it.
