I can finally tell my kids why I have a room full of these action figures. It was easy to convince them about Star Wars and Transformers but they have no modern concept of the Masters of the Universe. The Kevin Smith's animated series helped a little but it was not really for kids.

Outside of the fact that 90% of it looks like a PS4 game.

I was big into Masters of the Universe for a bit but then Transformers came along and I totally forgot about Masters.

Like Kevin Smith admitted, I also was never into He-Man. I see they're bowing to the pronoun tyrants, but y'all have at it.

We’re all looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the first movie you ever watch. Whenever that may be.

I thought so too.

I presumed they would either CGI him a bigger body or have him transform into a completely different person (which, as no one seemed to recognize He-Man and Prince Adam as the same person, would have made a lot more sense), but yeah - he's nowhere near the size of He-Man.

I see Hollywood still hasn't learned their lesson about not sticking to source material.

As the biggest He-Man fan ever as a kid, even I can admit that there isn't a ton of source material - especially with the origin story.

And if they green-light a sequel and it is the epic five-part "Secret of the Sword", then all will be right with the world.

Even acknowledging it is bowing to it.

Come on, man

What proof do you have that it’s done for comedic purposes?

It is supposed to be ridiculous

Do you remember the mini comics that came with the original figures? They were very cool and dark, very other worldly.

Found them:

The writing is awful.

Why am I not surprised that those OK with they/thems nonsense are cool with this?

Hope it makes a billion.

His pronouns are also in his frickING NAME.

That's the JOKE, you joy-sucking avatar of neckbeardedness.

Word of warning: If you take the name of any character in the He-Man universe seriously, you're going to have an aneurysm.

The 80s were truly a simpler time...

Look man, they clearly miss the gritty realism of the 80s cartoon.

Those look like absolute shite lol. It’s like watching a tv show where characters are driving and you can clearly tell they are in a studio with a revolving background.

If you want to have a huge practical sets/on location sets enhanced with CGI, that works for me. What will not work for me is a bunch of low grade practical effects that look like they were done at a high school drama club production.

CGI can be incredible, as long as the studio demands great work, pays for the great work, AND has the patience for that great work to be done.
