Lol no it doesnt.
Since borrego ball hes averaged what would be a career high in ts% (65.6, very elite), and posted a 4.8 BPM. We've been better on offense with him on the court with Borrego.
I hope other GMs are looking at this. We gotta hope herb comes back to clean up the defense enough to string some wins to get max value for this dude

If he's on the court, the team doesn't win his minutes regardless of how many empty numbers he puts up. (Operative word: TEAM)
If it was just about his 'Fanboy Numbers" he would have a market, but, as we know, he doesn't.

Well that's also a team problem. We know Zion cant carry a team and this is probably the worst squad weve had from a defensive standpoint. The fact remains that we're better on offense with him on the court

It’s been all downhill since his leg went thru his shoe

No, its been downhill ever since he left college, ate himself 30 lbs heavier and fricked his meniscus.

All those players who were dumped because they 'didn't fit with Zion' have gone on to either maintain their play or flourish with their new teams. But, ZW, despite his improved physical conditioning, has seen his play wane (especially on the defensive end, if that's possible). Candidly, I wonder who didn't fit with whom.
His market value is at an all-time low (today, you'd be lucky to get a ham sandwich and a bottle of pop on the open market). If all you are looking for is a highlight dunk every other game, he's your guy. But if you'd like to see your team succeed and win games, look elsewhere.
I ask anybody to tell me how the almost $200,000,000 (after this year) that we have spent on our part time 'superstar' has been money well-spent. I'd be appreciative,
I'm sorry; I remember being so stoked upon his arrival. Sadly, today, I see him as a 'Paper Lion' who, for his team, has had the effect of a lost 'pussycat'
Minus 17 against the Nets!!!!!! Let it sink in.

Yeah, it's also about roster construction. The problem is that Zion needs to be surrounded by shooters, and we're horribly deficient in that department.

Now that’s a squad.
That is certainly not a squad

The other guys fit however they were asked to fit. Zion is the unilateral issue - hes an undersized, Uber athletic pf who is only good at one thing - finishing close to the rim.
If he was 5 inches taller, he'd be giannis but he isn't so you're stuck with him as he is.
Even giannis needs certain players around him to excel. The caveat being, at least giannis is a lengthy defender and taller who can rebound.

Lebron James is 41 years old.
Zion is 25 and healthy.
I went to the pelicans/lakers game and Lebron is a much better player and athlete, at 41, than Zion.
If Zion commits himself to the game and profession fully, he may one day be as good as 41 year old LeBron.
Zion is a 6th man on a winning nba team and a starter on a bad nba team.

Zion just doesn’t have that dog in him. Tonight’s 1st half against Indy he goes for 18 points on 8/8 shooting. Instead of saying I’m coming out of the half and scoring 50, he scores 2 3rd quarter points after standing on the perimeter the entire fricking time. It’s infuriating!

Luka never won an MVP. Zion at whatever you think was his peak was still miles behind Luka, on 2 different stratospheres.
Zion never sniffed MVP caliber players unless they were on the court playing against him.

Theres several reasons Zion isn't as good, the main one being borrego isn't building the offense around him and rightly so.

The dude hasn't worked on his shot in 6 almost 7 years.
Someone on here tried telling me he has more than one move.

With all due respect, this makes you part of the problem of why the Pels are where they are now. Many had Zion pegged as a major problem when he ducked out of the Covid bubble in Orlando. There's only been about 1000 further instances to erase any doubt, but the team is completely inept and the culture is destroyed because of his lingering on this roster.
The Pels will linger at the bottom of the Western Conf for as long as he's on the team, plus 2-3 years of rebuild after and it's been COMPLETELY evident for the last 5-6 years.

Zion doesn't love basketball; he's just always had enough talent to not try. He has no real desire to fine tune and perfect his craft. People act like conditioning is his main issue but it's really only a symptom of his issues

mean, he was that good. At one point, he really was an MVP-caliber player when he was actually on the court. Somehow, he's not nearly as good anymore. Was the weight loss actually a negative? Have the injuries taken a toll on his athleticism? It's hard to say why this has happened. But yeah, he now at the level of "pretty good player." It certainly doesn't look like he could ever make another all-star game.
It’s simple, the league kept getting better and more talented while Zion never improved.
He can still score an efficient 20 plus points but gives you nothing else, bad spacing, and pathetic defense.
He’s basically a Lou Williams 6th man scoring option at this point. You’re going to lose a ton of games if you’re starting Zion in the year 2026. He needs to accept a microwave scoring bench role if he ever wants to win anything
