Agreed. I’ve said more than a few times on here I’m not giving up DD in any trade unless it’s in a star package and only if absolutely necessary.. This was a trade floated on a hawks message board. No way am I including him in any trade resembling this.

Yeah, you sub in a pick for Dyson where you can, and if Chicago is trading Caruso, you’d think they’d be looking for picks.

HELLL no
We better be getting Caruso and AJ also or swapping Okongwu for Capella while still getting AJ
Not a chance in hell Griff is giving up Ingram with Dyson AND attaching a pick when the best fricking player coming back is a guy no team would even give up more than a protected 1st for.

I would trade BI straight up for Siakam. I would also trade BI and future #1 for Herro and Nikola Jovic if Miami is willing.

Herro? :vomit:
I think we have already done the “volume shooting no defense” player thing.
If you want to do it again, at least get Trae.

The 2023/2024 season is finally over. Let the floodgates open and the trades talks start to ramp up. It's about fricking time.

I don't understand how people determine what makes a good "point guard". For me, it's speed and quickness, with incredible ball control and vision. I want someone that has the ball on a string and can blow by people at will. I do not see any of that when I look at Daniels. He is a great passer for a bigger player. But he's a wing to me, with the potential to be an elite defender.
How would he fit into our line-ups in the future? If you play him at PG, are we going to start Daniels, Jones and Murphy at 1-3 (assuming Ingram has moved along)? Congrats, we are now the slowest team in the league. I just do not see that working. We need more speed and guys to push the tempo, which would play to Zion's strengths.
Also, we really need to analyze how we develop players. Murphy has to start this season. It's year 4 and he's up for a massive extension. That has to happen. It's year 3 for Daniels, he should be starting as well. Hawkins should be a top 8 mpg guy and starting sporadically too. That's how players evolve. How many guys play limited minutes their first 1-3 seasons, then start emerging in years 4 and 5? We have to make spots and opportunities to facilitate this, or we are just wasting draft picks..

Agreed! You definitely need to package Daniels with BI. I think he has potential to be a solid player in the league but it doesn’t really fit if you’re adding another PG and starting Trey (which you have too).

Probably still a week out from any moves.

If Dyson leaves, it better be because it gets us wonderful pieces or prevents us from losing someone or something else very valuable.
I see him as another Herb if he fixes his shot so I don’t want to send him out solely because we are getting a point back.

Eh its more start paying attention to rumors rather than Press F5
I wouldn't think about F5 until draft night

And why do we have to do this again? There’s a few people that keep spouting off this like he has to go. He can remain 2nd team and continue to develop and see if he ever develops his offense. At worse you get a lock down defender coming off the bench.
Saw this on another board.
Jonas - Zion - BI - Herb - Daniels elite man defense = +20 100 minutes 10 games started
Jonas - Zion - BI - Herb - CJ elite spacing = +1.5 1450 minutes
Nance defense - Zion - BI - Herb - CJ elite spacing = -6.5 140 minutes

I would for his trade value and also I’m not sure where exactly would he fit long term? He’s more than likely never going to start with Herb, Trey, and Zion as the long term wing starters. Also, you have Jose (defense and energy PG) and Hawk (shooter off the bench) along with maybe Nance who are more than likely to be the core bench players in a playoff situation. He has elite defensive potential but I think it’s best to trade him when he’s value is high either this offseason or before the trade deadline.

I don’t want to trade Dyson, but I do think if we keep him we might not resign Naji.

I think keeping/ not keeping Dyson who can defend 1-5 and play PG has absolutely nothing to do with resigning Naji.
If we keep Naji or resign him it would be because:
1. No team wanted to pay him
2. The team BI goes to doesn't want him
3. We somehow end up with no PF depth, we have cap space, and no team wants him

Amazing to me that folks can watch the Celtics basically walk through the playoffs and NOT understand how they did it.
It's called "DEFENSE" !!! They have probably 7 players in their lineup who are much better defensively than anybody the Pelicans have. (Barring Herb of course & not counting Dyson since he couldn't get on the court this year)
To be honest, the Celtics played pretty lousy on offense in the Finals & the only thing worse than the Celtics offense...was the Mavs' offense. But at least the Mavs had the excuse of playing against a truly GREAT defensive team. For the Celtics, their 2 studs just shot the ball like crap but they were bailed out by the shooting ability of the "role players". Once again...it was just a "turrible" matchup for the Mavs & Luka. The Celtics-type team is the future of the NBA...either figure out how they've done it...or get your azz kicked by those type teams for the foreseeable future.
Bottom line...keep Dyson at least 2 more years. I think he's gonna be a solid and MUCH needed player. If you gotta trade one of the 2...Dyson or Hawk...move Hawk.
