What did you derive from it?

I dont foresee Gayle and Loomis letting them out the door, for better or worse.

I don't understand dumping a starting DE for another position without already having a DE replacement. You're just trading holes.

You have no clue what you are taking about. How can you be this stupid across so many different boards and topics?

From both of those interviews, I would say it sounds like Cam would easily come back for a fair contract..

Demario on the other hand gave off some vibes like he might want to make one last run at a ring moreso than go after a big payday

Cam said something of sorts alluding to being disrespected of sorts and the numbers would need to make sense. Go watch his interview and find that part.

Demario basically complimented the shite out of new Orleans and all that but left it at he has to be open to leave too. They both were heavy in the dome finaly w family presence and pics of the possibility at least that was there fair well. I’d maybe say Demario could be more important than cam

This. I want him and Demario back badly. You can’t pay $12M to a 37 year old.

Demario, yes. I think they’d let Cam walk if he wanted something crazy

He is not worth 15mill. He was non existent the last two seasons and this season seems more like a one off than things to come. He should be signed as the veteran to keep the culture and enforce the lockeroom, and you hope he gives you production along the way.

The cap is projected to be anywhere from 295 to 307 million.

You damn sure can give a 37 year old 4 percent

If you’re playing the odds Cam goes back to 3-5 sacks next year and 12mill is too much for that. As much as I like Cam you have to move on unless it’s a very team friendly deal.

This. You don’t keep betting on guys to produce by paying them more in their late 30s. I appreciate everything he’s done but it’s just business. Maybe he can cash in with a title contender for a year.

You mean when he took a ton of snaps at DT?

That may have had something to do with production, no?

I think 8 sacks is what we can expect from Cam next season. That and his locker room presence, and leadership makes this a no brainer. Structure it to spread out the hit and call it a day.

If you have some additional space at the beginning of the year,’add some unlikely achieved clauses to buy back some of that hit the following year.

How many of you downvoting and complaining about this post were screaming about Loomis putting the Saint in cap hell by giving contracts to old players trying to keep the run alive?

It’s rhetorical, just be honest with yourself.

Starting Week 7, Chase and Granderson both took more snaps than Cam each game

Chase missed 5 games. 2 ramp up games.

Doesn’t mean we don’t need to get Cam’s replacement before moving on either as we wouldn’t have that 3rd guy anymore

Correct. I typed that assuming everyone knew Chase missed 5 games, my bad.

Imo. With Shough on a rookie deal (if we think he is the real deal) then our “window” to make a run is wide open NOW. Good QB on a minimal contract is best case scenario.

This has always been his red herring for his subpar play. He had 23 snaps at DT in 2024 (4% of his snaps) and 15 snaps there in 2023 (2%). I think the fact that he had to eat the pay cut and then came into this season in noticeably better shape speaks to his admission of subpar play those years, he just has too much pride to admit he sucked

And look, I know everyone got excited because he turned it on down the stretch and we started to win a few. But he got shut out against the like of SF, SEA, NE, CHI, TB twice. Two ea vs the Dolphins, Jets, and Falcons. One vs the titans, panthers, bills, cardinals. Not to take away from what he did at this age, but we just need to approach his deal with a level head. At the end of the day, he probably won’t find a scheme or the snaps he would find here. And we know he’s focused on his own personal accolades to finish out his career

Tough call. It’s not that he isn’t worth it; it’s that we have needs at other positions which that money will be required to allocate to fill.
Here's the catch: if we let him walk we get hit for $18.76 mil next year. If we structure like we always do we get hit for only $12.52 mil tips.

Saving $6.5 mil on cap, paying Jordan like he deserves to be paid, and letting him retire as a Saint like he should can and should be done, even if it costs us an extra $6-10 mil down the line over 5 year vs not keeping him. I'd love to keep Jordan for such a low cost.

We can also have as much as $76+ mil next year on the cap, with extending Jordan, Davis. And Olave plus the restructures and carryover. It isn't like we need to penny pinch.
