Except they hurt their draft position by winning pointless games which hurts the theory of getting better players in the draft

Finding your franchise QB is worth all of our lost draft positions. We no longer have to reach on a QB in the draft. We also have our franchise QB on a rookie contract.

So true. Just wish we wouldnt have put a 3 game win streak together. They need a top5 pick and another win and they could be looking outside of the top 10.

I will always believe KM and Loomis tanked the first half of the season with Rattler and some peculiar in-game decisions on purpose.

I heard they did it to ruin Rattler because Rattler sits when he pees and puts the toilet paper on the roll backwards

This is the dumbest shite on the planet. It takes time to build out a team and change culture.

While this hasn’t worked well for us, I don’t believe this rule to be applicable

I truly believe we'd be sitting at 8-9 wins right now if they'd tried to win from the start. If you're obsessed with draft position, you should thank them for all those early season Ls. Once you put in your QB of the future, though, the tanking has to stop.

Tanked on purpose? I doubt it..

But I think they were smart enough to not throw Shough out there against 8 playoff teams...

Pointless to you. But not pointless to the team. Part of this is building a winning culture. I would rather build a winning culture rather then have the best draft in the world walking in to a losing culture.
I think Shough can be the guy, so I agree, if he’s the guy, let him go try to win every game, that’s the most important!!! If Shough had sucked liked Rattler, then yeah, you need a top 5 pick. QB is the most important position, and it looks like we have our guy. Start drafting BPA guys and build around him. And most importantly win!

He hated Ron Swoboda's guts and didn't even try to hide it.

Their interactions on those old Jim Mora shows on Channel 8 were classic as well. Was basically 2 middle aged dudes passive-aggressively telling each other to go frick themselves every week.

Imagine if we hold onto the picks this year and have a similar type of draft, resulting in 5-6 impact players/immediate contributors. Combine it with a decent FA, and it’ll really set the stage to make some playoff runs while Shough is still on his rookie contract.

think? Did you watch him play? We have our answer to the QB position. Let’s move on to what other holes need to be filled via FA and draft.

If the saints can sign a few good FAs and have at least half of the upcoming draft class contribute, they could be in the playoff hunt next year

2 more years of building around Shough and we should be back in business.

that's the rule. In the first round, if you trade up it better be for a QB.
