We told her it is fake, but she couldn’t comprehend how AI can do that.

Then show her the obvious fake shite, like the dude on the airplane wing or something similar. And point out that obviously it is not real.

Ah yes, more government. Don’t fix the root cause: idiocy. Instead, get daddy govt to put a bandaid on a severed leg.

While I agree with the sentiment I don’t think the government is going to care to go after Habib in India or Jingjow in China.

Then pass legislation that requires social media companies to require any AI content distributed on their platforms to have watermarks or they get penalized.

You're avoiding the bigger problem: a video on the Internet is just data. Once the data is out there how do you prove it was Ai made?

Many are obvious now, but as they get better and better?

I have a keen eye for AI content now but older generations are falling for this and as it progresses it will only fool more people.

It's getting so good that no one will be able to tell the difference. We will no longer be able to believe what we see or hear.

It's a seismic shift for society.

Passing laws requiring watermarks is all well and good, but the ne'er-do-wells will just work around it. The propaganda will be next level.

Also, how does a watermark guarantee something is AI? Said watermark would be super easy to put on any video. Now you're opening real videos up to even more uncertainty if someone just slaps a watermark on it.

even if you force watermarks people can literally use AI to cover up the watermark…they already did this with Sora

Ai is destroying boomers

LOL youngsters been getting duped long before AI showed up. See our current landscape with the youngsters believing all the crazy stuff going on college campuses. Don't be shocked that some boomers are up to date with this stuff.

Don’t show her the video of the polar bear piloting the passenger jet after the pilot and co-pilot passed out.

I have no issue with her liking a harmless video but it’s concerning they can be so easily fooled with AI content.

Y'all are trying to create a false narrative here saying old people are gullible and believe this AI crap is real . Maybe she believes that shite, not because she's a boomer, but because she's fricking stupid.

Congrats on the bloodline, Scooter.

Dont think the Chinese engagement farms care about watermarking

This.

There will always be countries that don't give a *&$# about watermarks or legislation from the US/Europe, etc.

In fact, there will always be countries that will do everything they can to circumvent ANY and ALL legislation from said countries. Not only has the horse left the barn, but it has already been turned into glue and dog food.

It ain't coming back.

Doing family Christmas this afternoon, and grandma pulls out her phone and shows us all a clearly AI video showing a dog saving a man from a bear attack.
Harbinger of the Sugar Bowl

Bet heavy on UGA: the man is Kirby Smart and clearly the Bulldogs will be attacked by the UM Rebel Bear Shark Rebel.

We need to pass a common sense law that all AI generated videos and pictures must by law have a clearly visible watermark, and those removing watermarks is punishable by law.

Man, don't you see how this clearly leads to individual humans having their own unique codes imprinted (maybe even implanted) at birth in order to verify identity, participate in commerce etc.?
