Cats are badass.
We had two cats and a German shepherd growing up. They got along just fine and my dad even liked the cats because they killed off the moles ruining his backyard.
I used to love watching them hunt in the woods by my house. Once you realize they are just miniature tigers they’re pretty cool critters.

We rescued a calico a few years ago. I’ve grown fond of her.

I really like my two cats. They both have very different personalities. The male loves attention from anyone and the female is standoffish to everyone but me.
They're both hell on both house mice and field mice, the female also kills moles and snakes.
They're easy to care for. We have a Power Pet Door, so they can come in and out as they please. They both get along well with my English Bulldog and are interesting to watch.
I will always have cats, just because they're good mouser and keep the squirrels away from my vehicles and machinery. Squirrels have cost me over $5k in damage to vehicles by eating sensors, nesting in the AC vent so I had to get the dash pulled, etc.

Cats are awesome. They do not deserve the hatred directed to then.

Never had one but they seem interesting for the reasons you mentioned.
As a kid, a friend of mine had this blockheaded Tom cat that always had new wounds and scratches and other cats walked around completely messed up because of him. I saw him hop off the porch we were on and he stalked another cat from 40 yards away and pounced.

Cats are great pets. They can’t hold a candle to a dog.
Get back to me after you’ve had a cat litter box in your home for a few years.

A cat killed my doberman.
The cat got stuck in my dog’s throat…

Doesn't every house need a box of shite in the corner?

Cats are much better than dogs. Smarter, braver, don’t need attended to, don’t have to groom them, you can leave them while you go on vacation, you don’t have to rush to the house to let a cat out, and dogs are afraid of them.

I’ve had three gray male tabby cats over the course of my life that have been just incredible pets. All three had great intelligence, strong personalities and were as attached to me as any dog I’ve ever had.
Moe, Bruce and George. All three were just random cats that somehow managed to find me and we bonded.

I hate cat owners more than the cat. They seem to think it is okay for their pet to run around shitting in neighboring yards and flower beds.
Keep your damn cat on your property just like I keep my dog on my property.
Do it before I do it for you!

I prefer mine to most humans. They get a bad rap because insecure people expect dog like behavior: “worship me no matter what.”
But cats are smart as shite. Honestly smarter than dogs, but you can’t test for it because they don’t do shite for free. You have to earn their trust (similar to humans?) before they trust and bond with you.
But tell me a dog breed that immediately knows where to take dumps without training, let alone being able to go out in the neighborhood by itself without supervision and like clockwork be able to come back home before supper time.

We have always used a Litter Robot. The new one is the best version yet. Change the bag once a week, add litter to the automatic hopper, no smell, no mess, good to go.
