My maternal grandmother, after being widowed, met her new husband at work (this was early 70’s). But we live in far different times now, and I wouldn't ask a woman out from work under any circumstances. Just too many “don't shite where you eat” problems for doing that now.

Depends on what you do and where you work. 22 years old and work in a restaurant? Go for it. Office setting probably best to leave it alone this day and time. You might get some or you might get a call from HR. Not worth the risk.
