Circle Bar still there?
Building is. Taylor widow bought it and is letting it rot so it can be torn down and replaced by a modern building/hotel.

Are you asking if a street in Nola is sketchy?

I lived between Magazine and St Charles the three years I lived in NOLA and commuted to Downtown for work. It was kinda sketchy back then with the homeless people especially near the train station and that Circle K. I went back over the holidays to visit my sister and take my family on an Amtrak ride and was surprised by how clean and safe it seemed.

quote:from the bridge to Jackson or so is just… ugly. Bunch of businesses cycle through the same few buildings, lots of vacant buildings, then you have an old subway, Office Depot, etc.
What’s this mean?
And there are a shite ton of homeless people, pimps and whores, etc that hang out in that area. It’s a completely different vibe compared to everything uptown of Louisiana

You can jog by Watermelon and Chicken.

Have you considered driving through the area around the time you would go for a run and check it out?

Not sure on the pimp's and whore's, haven't seen any but I guess that doesn't mean they aren't hooking.
It is the only stretch of St Charles that is fully commercial without homes on it, the main intersections not withstanding.
Just has a different feel. Have also heard it explained that it being the main path from the Melph to the Magnolia contributed to it not having a lot of investment.

If you walk down that stretch early in the morning or at night, you’ll see some interesting people
It’s not like chef where they’re working on the corner there, but you see them scurrying around at weird times

Fine in the daytime.
A ghost town at night.

not bad at all during the day. my son lives on that end of Carondelet and I walk/run through there and down St. Charles all the time when I don't feel like going the other direction downtown/FQ/riverfront. Walk to the circle k at night with no real problems either I just act more aware. I usually have AirPods in whether I'm listening to something or not and I find that helps with people trying to talk to me. if they do, I just point to my ears and keep moving lol.

White women walk and ride their bikes alone down milk and Jackson. City and gentrification worked

Why jog in city high traffic areas.....you deserve what might happen

Strava heat map, though not telling the whole story, looks GTG. I suspect you already know that.
And it's Harmony Circle now. Named after a brave stripper.

Have you ever seen black hawk down? If you remember when the chopper went down, it is pretty much like that

Wife and I walked from Poydras up St. Charles to Audubon Park, in the afternoon, about a month ago. We had no problems. Really didn't see any questionable characters at all.
