I have watched a few people start off with THC for 'back pain', then in their mind it no longer worked so they went the Kratom route next and were completely different people. Obviously, that is not always the path, but again, I am only speaking from my experience dealing with a few carpenters who used to work for me. One lost his whole family over Kratom.

This is anecdotal fear-mongering at it's finest. You know junkies who were using diet heroin from the gas station. The THC portion is irrelevant, as I'm certain you could also say they drank alcohol before "moving on to" trying THC.

No one is sucking dick to get a gram of weed or losing their entire family over THC and you are completely delusional if you think otherwise.

How about this

Thc should be legal to consume if you grow and harvest on your own property

Just like tomatoes, lettuce, rosemary and chickens…..

Make it legal to grow and harvest for owners consumption.

It looks like this won't take effect for year. I imagine they want to just get this passed and open up the government. Maybe over the next year they can figure something out moving forward.

That absolutely should be the case.
(And I am a very infrequent consumer btw.)

But that absolutely would never happen because…no tax $$$ for nanny Govt.

Exactly!

Government gotta get their hands on it

It’s a scam.

And in Louisiana guess who has interest in the big farms- the big dog donors many of which on Republican side.

does not read like there is a middle ground. i wonder if some states will move to legalize hemp now. this is all gotten pretty silly with regulated mj and completely unregulated hemp. gonna be hard to put the toothpaste back in the tube.

republicans, like Dan Patrick in Texas, don't see the forest for the trees on their modern refer madness.

They had their cake and eat to with the Farm Bill Weed. They didn't have to vote to legalize it so they could still pretend to be law & order republicans, while also effectively taking the issue away from dems

the outright ban on this stuff will give democrats a massive carrot to daggle to voters

This was all about one thing - stopping the THC beverage industry. Do you all think that "gas station weed" is some huge fricking thing? No. It's all about the drinks. People are drinking less and less. That's a fact. And I'm one of them. One of the things that have helped me tremendously was these 5mg drinks you can buy at Rouses and Total Wine. Thing is - the rack space at these stores have been growing. More and more people liked these as an alternative to alcohol and you know who that threatens? Anheuser-Busch, Coors, Seagrams, etc.

Guess sobriety had a good run for a lot of us.

i had a customer that did glass recycling back in the day, he was a data nerd. He showed significant dips YoY in every state that legalizes weed. it was cool to see the downstream economics of it.

Of course, their owner was pissed every time weed got legal and their operation in said states would take a massive hit.

What becomes of Willie Nelson's new THC infused bottles he is selling online. If you buy one they throw in the Willie handkerchief to go with the bottle.

Will these be going away? Would be a tragedy if so. I don’t think people understand what a game changer these are for alcoholics and people who just want to get off the bottle.

Yes. They will be going away. And even if you get a medical card, the dispensaries have said it takes up too much inventory space to stock them.

If this law doesn't change somehow before the house votes on them, THC beverages will be completely illegal within the year.

What a fun little thing to slip into a fricking funding bill, eh? How fair does that seem?

All this is going to do is push the state legalization further, and in turn give full legalization across the board when enough states get legal MJ.

I'm trying to cut out booze completely during the week so when I'm feeling like a drink I'll grab a High Rise, which is a local company that makes some good stuff. 5mg per drink.

ETA: just did some research and it doesn't sound like they're going away, just limiting where they can be sold
