nope...she probably doesn't even know how much money we have, what upcoming re-occurring bills/obligations we have but she is smart, frugal and makes great decisions...works well for me

We’ve never had a separate account bc I was in school when we got married and then I was a stay at home mom for a long time - I didn’t have anything to put in my own account
Then when I went to work I only think it’s fair for my husband to have access to the money I made bc I spent his all those years - right?

A decent amount of people do. Some make it work. Most don’t realize they’re set for divorce sooner or later. It creates inequality in the relationship with the person you’re supposed to be closest to in life

Trust me on this not your wife. Do not trust your wife on separate accounts. Have a joint account and stay on top of things. People change. Realize this. That is all.

meh, I know people need money to live but I don't think it should be a high priority item in that regard, more and more I've just accepted that it's only money and you can't take it with you, now if you do go through a divorce, as the man, you're going to get hosed

Same. My wife hasn't worked a for pay job in almost 20 years. She just knows she has a credit card. She can buy whatever at the grocery, put gas in her car and live life. If she wants to spend something outside of that say over 4-500, we'll discuss it first. She doesn't really spend much so it's all good. I've had to get her involved in some of the finances in case I croak.

Yes we have separate accounts
We each have certain bills that are our responsibility. Her money is hers and mine is mine. We both prefer it this way and it prevents a lot of arguments.
If I want to go buy a gun or a new truck I can and she can’t say shite. Vice versa with her. As long as the bills are paid
