Completed my career last July.
I worked a mostly IT career, and it’s rare to have a decades long employer in IT.
I worked for 8 employers and did a short stint as an independent contractor in 34 years.

Congrats! I'm at the earliest two years out or until the company pushes me out the door. My house is going on the market this weekend and I am downsizing significantly. Bought current home in 2005 and it has doubled in value so I will be pocketing a nice chunk and paying cash for a home half this size so no mortgage for the first time in 35 years. Bought an Airstream and starting this summer will be escaping the brutal Arizona summers, hopefully for good. Thanks to Elon Musk and Starlink I will be able to work while on the road until retirement. Hitting all of the major national parks in the Rocky Mountain states this summer in addition to WI, MI, the UP, MN, Sturgis, SD and MT. Next summer is the PCH/Yosemite NP north to OR, WA, CN (Alberta, BC and the Yukon) and ending in Alaska. Future trips are to New England/Nova Scotia, Great Smokey Mountains NP and Key West. Fall/winter I will remain in Arizona, the best time of year here. Can't wait.
