How else would he make sure you are doing what he is paying you to do? Your other option is to not take money from him.

I've made that mistake before. "This guy doesn't have a clue what he's talking about"

No input from our side. Thanks everyone.

It really pisses me off when the meeting organizer doesn't allow recording or transcribing so I have to pay attention instead of being able to get an AI summary of it.

Sounds like you just have too many dumb meetings. Not sure what MS Teams has to do with your gripe.

I will take meeting from home via TEAMS over sitting in a conference room any time

You realize the alternative is the same torture but in a conference room, right?
Honestly, the worst is old school conference calls over the phone with 3 people trying to talk at the same time. At least in teams you know who’s trying to talk and you have the option to mute someone individually or see who’s talking and tell them to wait their turn.

Meetings in any form that could have been an email suck. Video conferencing beats the shite out of dragging to a physical location for the majority of meetings.

In the world of Probation and Parole, we use it for Violation Hearings. I get to log on from my office and testify rather than going to the a courthouse which is fine for me. Aside from that it sucks.

I have a weekly BIM meeting that always starts 5 minutes late because of this stupid shite

I'm in meetings from 7 - 5, Monday - Friday. I average about 95-110 meetings on my calendar a week.
In person meetings everyone can see the this is pointless look on my face. I can hide it on teams.

We have tv’s with camera/soundbars that we connect with via clickshare. We’ve got one camera that randomly zooms in on people during calls. It’s so bizarre and awkward

I limit meetings to 5 corporate buzzwords or saying or I leave. I make this very clear and have done it several times. I started getting more emails and more concise meetings out of people.

it's just information being given that could be conveyed in an email.
Is it the, have you had a chance to look at the agenda (that was sent 5 minutes before the meeting), then the entire meeting is for them to simply read from said agenda with a few unnecessary elaborations
