I feel awful for you boys with calendar full of meetings. You are forced to delegate down. I hate that shite, I prefer to do everything myself.

This is where I am. Plus I randomly drop myself a 90 minute meeting in my work day so I can go to the gym.

Meetings in general that could just be an e-mail should be considered time theft. Most of the meetings I deal with, it's just information being given that could be conveyed in an email. Meetings scope should be limited to collaboration only.

I agree 100%….i’d rather e-mail list of bullet points of action items that I can refer back to.

You're saying that you don't like a teams invite being tossed over the cubicle wall at 4:45p for 8:30a the next day?

If you are early, you are on time.
If you are on time, you are late.
If you are late, dont bother coming.

If my guys are late, I do not acknowledge them.

I hate teams meetings, but they are a necessary evil. Just do not over do them, and be organized when you do hold one.

I am so glad I exited the corporate world prior to the acceptance of TEAMs meetings, the one or two conference calls a week were bad enough, but you could kinda sluff through

Strongly disagree. Teams meetings allow me to avoid putting on pants most days and to work remote all days.

Our firm would not be able to hire the talent needed if we weren’t virtual.

Just got off of one. Worse is I have to remember to put on a nicer shirt. Or when no one gets on camera and I’m basically talking to myself.

then, god forbid, you reach out to someone if you have an issue

Nope. Let’s talk in circles for half an hour and inevitably someone will forget/miss one of the actual times that needs to be performed

Im honestly shocked you have this opinion. You come across as someone who has a profession that involves having their weekly schedules posted on a dry erase board moreso than Teams meetings

Being able to delegate is an important skill though. I get it though.

This. Atleast with teams meetings I can actually get work done while people are talking about things that could have been an email.

Dont know how many of these meetings i sat though and at the end said "Just send me and email and i will take care of it!"

Oh, they usually do, followed by a "Sorry, but I have a previously scheduled appointment at that time, but I can be available at this time" message.

My wife works in the corporate bureaucratic jungle. I don’t know how you people do it with all of these meetings and calls. It really is meetings to have meetings to then “circle back” to meetings. And while everyone is pretending to “move the needle” no one is actually doing anything.

I walk by her office in our house and think Jesus fricking Christ, thank God I don’t do that.

At least you can do other stuff during a teams meeting as opposed to having to sit at a table and try not to fall asleep.

I get a lot of shite at work for forcing meeting along when I’m leading them. I do a lot of recapping and speaking for people being noncommittal and just dragging shite out.
