Probably stocking up on bagel bites and Mountain Dew while listening to Fastball as me and the 9th grade homies prepared to watch Metro Atlantan Jeff Sheppard dominate in the NCAAT
Maybe some AOL chatroom action, a Blockbuster night here and there
Perhaps the peak of civilization

Life was good, bartending, making plenty of money, had a gf, and lots of friends to party with.

Junior year of college at Wisconsin, living at 699 W Mifflin (right by the Kohl Center) with buddies, Ron Dayne was terrorizing defenses and Badger football was about to peak. Used to get drunk at our apt and head to State St with maybe $16 in my pocket to crush $2 swamp waters at Brothers.
Life was good.

Senior year at Bama... Great year. Maybe one of the best of my life.
I was only taking a couple classes to wrap up my degree and I had worked construction for a couple summers and got my certification to be a forklift operator. I landed a random job that I'd work from about 7:00am to noon and was making about $30 an hour running a forklift at a warehouse. My rent was $300 a month, school was paid off and I had a ton of free time and for that age and more money in my pocket than ever before.
Lots of partying, lots of late nights. It was a time I look back on fondly... now if Bama didn't suck at football during that stretch, it would have been even better.

Had moved back to New Orleans, had a one year old child, a better job and had just bought my first house in Old Metairie. Life was great. Trajectory was up.

Senior in college and only had 2 classes my last semester. Not a care in the world. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

A shitty area of Central Fresno. I think it was declared the most economically depressed neighborhood in the city a few years back.

What were you doing?
Working 12 hour shifts at a factory making the plastic liners for adult diapers and raising a newborn baby girl with my girlfriend at the time (who would be my future ex wife a few years later).

Things are waaaaaaaaay freaking better right now. The 2nd wife is awesome. We'll celebrate our 24th anniversary in a couple months. Life is good. Business is good. Family is good. I can't complain at all.

4 years into my IT career, in an experience-building phase. Worked for a couple ISPs and a IT certification training company.

This personally put some things into perspective. I was 2 years away from marrying someone who was not a good fit, wound up divorcing after 11 years. I wanted to get married because I was approaching 30 years old and thought "there is nothing more to life, I better get started on growing a family." I was learning how to make better decisions, and getting out of the purgatory I had built for myself for the prior 10 years of poor decisions. My career trajectory was taking off but I wanted more money, and later in 2000 an opportunity of a lifetime presented itself, which I jumped on and never looked back. Until just now

Going into Senior year at LSU. Slowed down a bit socially, but only because I realized I actually needed to graduate. A great time to be a Tiger, for sure!
