LOL. frick no. I'd ride a horse before I buy an EV.

Why? Im just curious why you are anti-EV. Its one thing if you just prefer a gas vehicle, but why are you completely against them?

Do you just don't like the idea of abandoning something that has been the norm all of your life?

It's the new shift in power, pun intended. Who controls this energy sector, oil or electric.

Electric vehicles are inferior in almost every way by the end. If the purpose is to be cleaner energy, the gain in efficiency to the individual consumer does not outweigh the loss of oil used to MAKE the batteries. So it's not good for someone that is all about the environment. It's not good at towing. And it's only mildly cheaper than buying gas, until you need new batteries. Then the costs are more expensive. So electric is 1. more expensive 2. less good for the environment 3. not good at towing 4. Can't be refilled just anywhere.

I am not against it, but I just don't think we're there yet.

Who are you guys talking to that say they are about saving the environment? Only a real leftist nut says that

Plenty of evidence that the batteries, when used correctly, can last as long as an engine with less maintenance. As far as a Tesla, it measures your battery life and there is plenty of data out putnout by drivers for people to review. Unless you're putting an extreme amount of miles on the car then this shouldn't be a problem. Keep in mind many on this board think you cant drive 50 miles from a city in an EV. Throw in that this market is growing exponentially so those costs will be coming down. If it is an issue for someone then they need to let the market and tech mature.

EV trucks are already out there.

Yeah, I saw a test a while back where the range went from something like 300 miles down to 80 miles pulling the trailer. Hard pass.

For my commute yep but as a toy hauler for boats trailers etc .... nope. I work for an electric utility so have driven lots of them. Range especially in cold is an issue but commutes and around town they r good

Put a small truck on the market for the same price as a Tacoma with a 500 mile range and I would be in.

Sure, if the battery and charging performance changes overwhelmingly

Make a midsize SUV with a 400 mile range that recharges to 100% in, hell, 20 minutes even, and I'll give it a shot.

I'm considering replacing my wife's (no pics) A5 with an eTron in the next year or so, but the price on them has gone through the roof. Will probably end up with a Q5e plug in hybrid for starters before going full electric. 30-35 mile all electric range to run around town, but can switch to a gas engine for longer trips.

Until electric/plug-in trucks can tow long distances, I'll still have a gasser.

Nope. I have a Toyota Corolla commuter car that gets great mileage. I could probably replace the engine in it 4 times for what a new battery would cost in an EV.

I have a problem with the fact that the batteries are limited lifespan and real expensive to replace

I'm sure there will come a point where you won't have much of a choice but until that happens not a chance

Never. There are not enough raw materials to make the number of cars needed. Getting the raw materials rapes the land. Anyone saying they are trying to ‘help the environment’ is a feces flinging booger eating moron… just an observation. Carry on.

The govt will probably force me to either by banning gas ones or making gas too expensive before I would ever naturally consider it

I spend all day every day in my truck on the farm and there’s no charging station anywhere close to here and current technology doesn’t make it time efficient to recharge so it’s useless to me. We have a day crew and a night crew that use the same work trucks so the trucks never sit idle more than a couple hours. Technology would have to improve to 10-15 min for a full charge to get close to being viable
