Thank you. Believe it or not, there are many of them out there just like me.

I actually hate this one too.

If you’re a doctor, you took the hypocratic oath. Your job is to try and save the life of both. An abortion purposely ends the life of one of your patients

Sex comes with responsibility. When adults choose to have sex, they choose to be responsible for the consequences. Birth control should be used and discussed prior to sexual activity. If conception happens despite the use of birth control, the options of marriage, co-parenting, and adoption should be discussed.

And it is a slippery slope. I just read a story the other day about a black police officer who lost everything because he was falsely accused. Fortunately, he had a camera.

I hope the woman got the same sentence he would've gotten. But I know that's not the case.

I know the Bible admonishes masturbating and I think it says you have to give your priest/church some doves or something along those lines if you choose to denigrate your godly body and succumb to your sinful thoughts by,... jacking off.

A word on this, particularly as it pertains to late term abortion (because this seems to be the argument made by proponents for not banning them): if a fetus is past the point of viability, the prescribed treatment is to simply deliver the baby. For women who do not wish to terminate their pregnancies, anyway. This is done all the time for women with HELLP syndrome. I'm a physician (not an OB, but I have delivered babies and cared for NICU babies) and I can't think of a single medical condition in a mother that would require purposefully terminating a fetus post viability. It is particularly senseless "up to the 9th month" that some states allow. With so many couples wishing to adopt infants, why is this allowed?

Same. And I love and agree with your op. (Personally in the case of the “health of the mother”, I still wouldn’t do it. For all 3 pregnancies, I always told my husband you pick the baby if we both can’t be saved.)

I will certainly defer to you on this topic as I am NOT in the medical field, but what you say “rings true” and makes much sense.

Thank you.

As a woman who was once a Democrat but now 100% Republican, I believe this is one of the best posts I've seen regarding this issue.

This board loves nothing more than a pick me woman who is willing to insult all other women in hopes of upvotes from strangers on the internet.

You should tell them how women shouldn’t be allowed to vote next, then you’d really rack up the worthless upvotes.

You a guy? Grow a set of balls and act like a man. Defend men and children.

You a woman? Stop looking to find offense.

Awesome perspective, TigerChick.

The poster who called you a “pick me chick” is just using a dog whistle so they don’t have to critically think about your position. Typical cop out via insult.

You’re right to encourage men to speak up. We need to.

By laying out possible solutions via consequences for false accusations, you’re touching on the real problem:

Women are not held accountable for their decisions currently.

I’d also recommend civil penalties for any woman who attempts to force a man to pay child support by falsely claiming he is a child’s father when a DNA test shows he is not. Of course, that problem goes away if DNA tests are required in every custody hearing.

I’m equally disturbed by the current arguments conflating miscarriage with abortion. These women seemed shocked that their life had to be in actual jeopardy. Understanding the basics of maternity/emergency/hospital medicine is completely lost on these people. They only see this issue through the lens that abortion is the only solution to every pregnancy problem.

Excellent post. You should spread your critical thinking throughout American womanhood so I can stop feeling like I need to stick my head in the oven.

This seems like quite the slippery slope of false rape accusations

Maybe, but if you're claiming rape then there at least needs to be an investigation into the matter.

But fellas, if you wear a condom and only hop in bed with girls you're in a long term relationship with, this issue is largely off the table.
