Completely agree. Their intentions were noble, and my prayers go out to the deceased and their families. But Blackwater should be the only missionaries in Haiti right now.

Kind of with you. So much I can do here than go to foreign hell hole. Especially if I have kids.

That’s the thing….they still are, just not in this world. Lotta hate in this thread. I’m sure they understood the dangers of being there, but they went anyway.

Yep. 1000%. They knew it could go south and still decided to go. Very noble.

I feel for the family but wtf did they think was gonna happen? It's like the retarded cyclists that got killed by ISIS in Afghanistan. Go to a third world shithole, expect a third world shithole outcome.

Any idea exactly what they were doing? I'm genuinely curious.

Not sure I'd be in Haiti. That place seems sketchy as hell.

I have no idea why anyone would go there voluntarily.

Not sure. I know a lot of the younger generation are church planters so they may have been doing that. Tons of voodoo shite in Haiti so if I had to guess, i'd say they were probably church planting.

Seem like good kids.

Should have stayed home and had 10 kids.

Sad. Missionaries should focus on safe countries. If they die, they'll miss a lifetime of bringing people to God.

Missionary work is very tough business, and it’s a strong calling on people’s lives to spread the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus and salvation to mankind. It’s certainly no vacation, but rather a vocation of service to God. People who put their lives at risk in places like Haiti and elsewhere do it in service to God, not to get attention, but to serve because there is something much much greater than this temporal existence on this planet at stake. Their lives they surrendered to serve God and in God’s service they lost it, but although this is horrible, they are alive and well in the everlasting Kingdom. Make no mistake about it. They will be rewarded for losing their life for His sake.

Those whom we should keep in our prayers are those who are left behind.

You jumped into a thread about missionaries to post emoji’s about religious ideology? What did you think you were going to find?

Hate that this happened, when the details and videos of their murders get out it will hopefully warn people to stay out of third world shitholes

Third world shitholes are third world shitholes because they're full of third world shite people

There was an American girl (not a missionary) who biked across the Middle East to demonstrate 'all people are basically good.' She was murdered within a week.

Many in this country have already heard the word of God. There are outreach programs for the US, but missionaries try to go where few have heard the gospel and establish churches for further outreach. And yes, I've been on three mission trips to try and bring God's word and connect with the community.

Yes. Haiti is a resort-like utopia.
