It’s because Dems/Libs come on here and regurgitate CNN MSNBC talking points which are routinely proven false or misleading. So yes, after years of dealing with this fantasy land nonsense they come here with it’s just become natural to respond sarcastically because they simply cannot be taken seriously.

It’s definitely an echo chamber. But when I see a topic of interest on this board, I’ll scroll straight to the post with the most downvotes just to get differing views from my own.

The difference here is you can post an opposing view. If I post an opposing view on Reddit I got banned in 5 minutes.

pretty much everyone here is happy to engage in meaningful debate; its the 'hit-and-run' liberal trolls that piss everyone off.

making some outrageous statement then logging off while the board froths.

if you are genuinely interested in a civil debate of ideas, this board is fine.

No

I’m a young fairly conservative male and this place reminds me why the right continues to lose elections.

I’m very maga and I view it as an open invitation for all Americans on the left and right. Some on this board will absolutely not tolerate anyone who may have the least bit left thinking opinions. Great example is the tulsi for vp threads.

I occasionally see Democrat/liberal opinions offered; however, a significant number of responses are pure ad hominem attacks, wholly devoid of any attempt to discuss an issue or position.

You get this with slightly-differing conservative views too

It is what it is- still better off than the SEC Rant as it is possible to have legitimate discussion still

If they aren't just regurgitated bot talking points, but are actually founded on a sober analysis of the issue with factual support, they tend to get a respectful hearing from most.

conservatives aren't even welcome if they don't go along with the group think of the thread.

The only difference between here and reddit is our mods don't silence everyone.

what? you don't agree with me? CUCK! GROOMER! TRANNY LOVER!!! MELT!!!!

But to your Op question. people don't actually want liberal opinions. they only post gotcha tweets or videos and say " any libs care to explain?"

and likewise most of the liberal posters only show up when they think they have a gotcha. more times than not it's something that has already been discussed throroughly through the day but they want their own thread for attention.

So, it's all just pure literal echo chambers? That sounds perfectly boring.

It depends how you do it. If you come in here just to troll, then piss right off. If you bring something respectful and substantive to the room, you’ll be fine.

I like opposing views. What I don't like is a left winger start an OP and then he goes away and doesn't debate any of the responses that follow.
I don't hate leftists. IRL I loved debating them in a friendly manner.
And if you think lefties are rare on this board, try finding a lesbian poster. I've never seen one here and I've been here a long time.

You forgot Fig when they can't refute effectively. However, stay away from religion . It's rare to stay civil on that on this board. Of that, Revelator and I are in agreement. It gets much more civil but animated on the OT, however, don't mess with FooManChoo on religious topics. Foo knows what he is talking about even if you don't necessarily agree with his take.

Most of what you said is pretty accurate. I get annoyed by the mindless ad hominem

I will say though occasionally a liberal will post here and then is asked to explain how they came to that particular conclusion or position, and often there is no explanation returned and makes it appear it’s a position that is purely emotional.

So I think that kind of response has gotten seared into the minds of many of the lower IQ conservative posters and they just assume there are no point in trying to argue because liberals won’t offer anything. So while they are wrong in doing this, I’d also challenge liberals, such as I’m assuming yourself, to do a better job attempting to defend their position.

So, you just came to concern troll the board in bad faith or do you have a good faith substantive opinion you’d like to share?
