I, for one, am shocked by these revelations

All they want is an explanation of cost overruns.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Invoking “Fed independence” to shut down scrutiny of Jerome Powell’s sworn contradictions on the HQ renovation is a classic motte-and-bailey maneuver: the defensible “motte” is that the Fed should be free from day-to-day political interference in setting interest rates; the expansive “bailey” is the claim that even asking whether Powell lied under oath is un-American, threatens hyperinflation, and will turn the United States into Zimbabwe. In a constitutional republic, demanding truthful testimony from an unelected central banker is oversight, not an attack on America.

Give the money back to the US Treasury if they don’t want to be audited.

I mean, do you think Trump really cares about carefully scrutinizing of construction projects in the capitol? You think this was really big on the DOJs priority list?

Oh.
If the bank guy is all for the federal reserve, then it is all obviously above board.
I guess the next "shockers" will be
- republican are for common sense.
- democrats come out in support of transing kids.
- White liberal women will come out against attractive people.
It is all so shocking. How will we cope?

The increased pressure on Powell is just more of Trump's "retribution" agenda that he publicly promised. Come on, now...

In March of 2020, the single biggest news event of the decade hardly got any news coverage, and that is the Federal Reserve just got rolled into the US Treasury Department. This happened in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, so such massive news got drowned out by Corona Virus news and concerns.
Most people don’t know what the Federal Reserve is or was. To put it simply, The Fed was a privately-owned banking cartel owned by foreign and domestic wealthy banking families who controlled the economic system of the United States by controlling its money supply.
With this single act, the US government now owns “The Fed” and has the ability to govern its own financial destiny without acquiescing to a third-party entity whose interests are not aligned with WE THE PEOPLE. We, through our elected officials, now control our own money supply. THAT IS HUGE!

Just think all of this could have been avoided if Trump didn't appoint Powell in the first place......
A reminder to way back when with some quotes:
Yikes
A reminder to way back when with some quotes:
quote:
“Today is an important milestone on the path to restoring economic opportunity to the American people,” Trump said with Powell standing to his right and the prospective chairman’s family nearby. The president said the Fed requires “strong, sound and steady leadership” and Powell “will provide exactly that type of leadership.”
quote:
“He’s strong, he’s committed and he’s smart, and if he is confirmed by the Senate, Jay will put his considerable talents and experience to work leading our nation’s independent central bank,” Trump added.
