Great point. I think it was just a trial run for a bigger power grab (something based on "climate change"?). Has Trump 2.0 forestalled that? I pray so.

Your problem is you aren’t smart enough to have an intelligent thinking session. What a stupid question.

I want the electoral college to stay
I want the President to oversee diplomacy issues, military issues, monetary policy issues.
I want the 17th amendment abolished and appointment of senators to return to the state government
I want term limits on members of the House of Representatives
I want to decentralize the federal government and return it to what is supposed to be: Maintain the military for national defense, Maintain ambassadors for foreign diplomacy, Maintain a national currency and standards of weights and measures,
I want to abolish all inferior federal courts to the Supreme Court except 10 district lower courts to hear federal cases. The Supreme Court should be reserved for cases between states, cases between states and foreign entities, and a very limited number of appeals from the 10 lower courts.
I want the Governor of the 50 states to be the most important politician in most peoples lives.
I want the state’s governments to run their states like semi autonomous nation states under the framework of the constitution.

Our government, in its current capacity, has about outlived its benefit to society.
This is where I am: Balkanization or, at least, much less centrally-controlled government.
A REALLY healthy respect for the 10th Amendment would be a good start. My guess is that 80% of what Congress passes violates of the 10th Amendment.

I like him. He seems genuine enough. Not errbody is going to think the same. It's healthy to lock horns.

I want a monarchy but not with a low-born person like Trump at the top. President, sure, but king? No way.
Posted on 6/12/25 at 7:01 pm to SallysHuman
It’s a stupid question and I don’t have problems with alternative views or discussion. I don’t care if people don’t agree with Trump on everything because I do not either. It’s still a stupid question.

We're basically a third of the way there. Congress is damn near useless. Trump is at 161 Executive Orders to date in his second term. We increasingly govern by EO to the point that we have rendered a third of our government mostly useless.

Government and political parties haven’t been about serving citizens in years. It’s a business which extends to many industries. Most career congressman are motivated by preservation of their party and employment. Even those entering with best intentions, learn it can be a very lucrative career.

I think an absolute monarchy is the ideal form of government, but only if that monarch is a wise, competent, and just person. But history shows us that these people are few and far between, not to mention the issues with succession.
Our system was set up wonderfully, but I believe the root cause of our problems is that franchise has been extended to so many people that, quite frankly, have no business voting. People that don’t have their own lives together should not be given the responsibility of governing the lives of others.

I'm not sure what your point was there
The point is all of the “noo kangz!!” Idiots were just yelling at people a couple short years ago that they were mass murderers for not taking a shot. A shot made mandatory by the executive.
Then they cheered when the first amendment was shoved aside and people were arrested for simply gathering.
Then they nodded like bobble heads in agreement when it was again decreed that riots were an exception to the rule.
And here are the same idiots yelling “no kangzz!!1!1!”

Thankfully, we weren't limited to my intelligence. Honestly, my thoughts on the matter are somewhat fluid. The Covid Tryanny and Open Borders really challenged what I thought I knew about American government.
You don't think my question elicited some interesting responses? I read many intelligent ideas I hadn't considered before.

There is a dictator in Russia that does exactly that. We don't have real Kings in the world anymore.

I made a sincere reply to your OP question on page 2.. I enjoy engaging with you and would be happy to see your response to my statement.
Thanks Human...back at ya. I appreciated your effort and had already responded favorably. I agree with you.
Despite being labeled as not intelligent enough for the discussion, I was in the PhD program in history at UVa as an excuse to study Jefferson. I am an Anti-Federalist from WAY back.

It'd be interesting to get a good F vs AF thread going on this board!

Agree! It's as relevant a discussion today as it was in the 18th century.
