Russia is going to bomb the shite out of Kiev now. They brought it on themselves so no whining when it happens. Sad all these Ukrainians are dying so Zelensky can continue his grift. This could all have been over two years ago if Ukraine would have taken a peace deal better than anything they’ll get now.

Russia's goal is to end Ukrainian sovereignty and Ukraine's goal is to maintain sovereignty. Territory is secondary issue.

No, the boundaries won't be the same at the end of the war, but everybody focuses too much on this, especially Trump himself. He's thought he could satisfy Putin with provinces, but Putin continues to emphasize that he doesn't see the Kiev government as legitimate and Ukrainians as occupied Russians. Zelensky knows that territorial deals won't mean anything to Putin as long as he doesn't respect Ukrainian sovereignty, so neither party will deal.

Read the tea leaves. That area is going to be a geopolitical hotspot for the next several decades. Ukraine won't sign away any land in a peace deal, as capitulation has the same result. Which means that any land that Russia does 'gain' will not be internationally recognized.
