RIP.

I didn’t much care for the man. Such is life. But it’s always sad when any life ends this way.

but nowhere will we see you identify which of the two, Rob Reiner or Charlie Kirk, expressed open hatred for his political opponent

Leftists would say that Charlie Kirk’s position was that many people were an abomination before God because of their homosexuality or other behaviors with which he didn’t agree. You simply won’t win the argument without falling back on “These are my beliefs, therefore…”

This is a war of beliefs; it’s not about tactics. Both sides use the same tactics, and criticize the other for doing what they themselves do. What makes one right is one’s values.

Liberal Rob would be blaming him being stabbed to death by his liberal son on White, Conservatives in Birmingham, Alabama who support the second amendment and freedom.

Ironically, he often blamed the victim.

I never liked his views yet he had a right to them. It is sad when someone gets murdered.

Meathead and Archie together in heaven. God will have his hands full with those two.

We reap what we sow. I take Reiner's seeking the services of a mental hospital as an indication he was struggling with his own evil. Conversion often comes in slow methodical steps. I don't rejoice over the death of mine unrepentant enemy. I wonder if there was anyone in Reiner's life (a closet Christian maybe) who tried to turn him away from the path he was following? Regardless, Rob Reiner's eternity has begun.

A lesson for all of us.........at the moment of death we will all face our particular judgement. Lord God, have mercy on me.....a sinner.

Domine Deus, da mihi animum reconciliationis cum eis quos offendi. Amen.

The irony of a self righteous a-hole that called half the US evil bigots and told us how we’re supposed to think and live, turns out, created a deeply disfunctional family, and then his own evil, deranged son savagely stabs them to death.

To me, this is the harshest critique of leftism - it is unstable. Everywhere it predominates pathos ensues - in nations, in cities, in states, and in families.

But don’t you see? That is the same thing the leftists would say, only they would reverse the names. The point of his post is that some of the same people who criticized the lefties for dancing on CK’s grave are dancing on RR’s. Now, you can take the position that one is justified while the other is not, but that means you have no problem with taking delight in murder; it’s the relevant political positions that matter. This absolves the leftists from their unseemly celebrations because in their eyes they are right politically. In short, it’s their political position you are criticizing, not the gross behavior.

There is a single massive difference in the two situations that you’ve completely missed.

In one example, a leftist murdered the his political opponent because of his political opinion. And then other leftists celebrated that act.

In the other example, righties are expressing joy that Reiner is dead.

It says a ton about you that you equate these two things.

Yet thanks for bringing this most grievous transgression to light Penrod! I definitely will sleep better at night knowing you are fact-checking my posts.

Crimminy, I just brought up that they were knife wounds. I didn’t mention you by name, or call you an idiot. If you post an opinion you should expect that opinion to be discussed, right?

Well he was a Jew!

That being said no one deserves to die for their political views, if that's what this was, but I tend to believe it was their mentally ill son.

No joy here.

But if it were a righty they would say he deserved it because of his beliefs.

Well liberals don’t want to fix the drug problems. So right back at you.

And as usual lefties would be full of shite for saying so. That wasn't Charlie Kirk's message at all

And that's the same thing that many said when C Kirk was murdered.
However, that is not the equation, is it?

An alarming number of leftists were saying they were glad Kirk was murdered, he deserved to be murdered, etc. Are there similar posts regarding Reiner and his wife?

If so, draw those to comparison.

Of course there are. Go on twitter. In the age of social media there will always be people like this, whether they are trolling or serious.

To calling him an anti- Christian bigot is
plain nuts. He may have disagreed with some of the evangelical politics, but that doesn’t make him “anti-Christian”. H

Its quite interesting to me that ultra left-wing celebrities, who believe their ideas should be the foundation for civil society, so often raise children that are absolute lunatics.

That’s not how Christian morality or ethics works, my bro. We expect Progressives to say awful things - it an absolute certainty in fact- when they murder someone on our side like Charlie Kirk. But we don’t change our principles because their principles are lower. That’s both Christian and Conservative 101.

What from my comment makes you think I needed a lecture on Christianity and Conservatism? I simply stated what he thought about us as Christians and Trump supporters. I stated nothing about my personal feelings in my comment. I’ve never changed my principles based on someone else’s.

quote:

The strength of our convictions is proven when others abandon theirs. How strong are our values if they shift every time someone else has none? You have to rethink this , brother. You are better than that. This isn’t Reddit or Democrat Underground.

Again I have nothing to rethink. CK’s death was tragic…as was this one. I’m not going to dance on either grave, but I had a lot more in common with and mourned Charlie’s death more than I will this one. But I take no joy in either death.

Your comments about how a righteous person should be reacting here is spot on…just not sure why I was your target.

So what is the story with his son? Is he an only child? Is he married? Drugs?

Reiner has 4 kids. 3 with the current wife who he's been with since the 80's.

This is the younger of two sons, and he has a lifelong history of addiction and rehab. Reiner used the experience with his son as a lot of script material when he made Being Charlie. If you need money for drugs, and your rich parents won't give you money for drugs, well, you know....
