Or - and hear me out - they are blatantly illegal and have centuries of history to prove they are bad economic policy.

So you support violating the constitution whenever a president deems it’s an “emergency”?
Sorry, but I no longer pay any attention to idiots lecturing about the Constitution. The US judiciary, including multiple justices sitting on the USSC, ignore the Constitution whenever it suits their purposes. So do the politicians. This is an emergency and if the fools steering the country can't see that, then the Constitution doesn't matter because its era is coming to a rapid end.

In a thread about SCOTUS ruling? That’s crazy talk.
Either you believe in the rule of law, or you don’t.
Take your pick.

We can, in a USSC case? Thanks!

Except the case wasn't about any of that. It was about the law.
Some of you are getting exposed as plain, old regular idiots.

And that is why some would consider expanding the number of jurists -- gotta make sure that adherence to the final authority is rock steady and solid

Pretty clearly the tariffs were unconstitutional, arguing otherwise just shows your inability to reason.
This is a somewhat narrow ruling. 6 justices said the International Emergency Economic Powers Act doesn't give the President authority to impose tariffs even though it expressly gives the President authority to regulate imports. Wouldn't tariffs be a way of regulating imports? Haven't other Presidents set the precedent of imposing tariffs? You may argue, erroneously imo, that the IEEPA doesn't give tariff authority to the President but clearly Congress historically ceded that authority to the President.

If you want to move manufacturing back, try tax credits and investment, not tariffs
Tax credits are shite. Tariffs are the way to go. They were used by the founding fathers. There is no such thing as "free trade".

Me thinks the Cabal doesn't want any alternative means of generating income for the goviment - only confiscatory taxes.
Confiscatory taxes means control.

The dissenting opinion gave the framework to make tariffs legal

What? The tariffs provided the U.S. with trade leverage and negotiations with world leaders. That's putting the country first.

You have this completely backwards. What kind of moron thinks tariffs are the tool of globalists? Good Lord.

There is an argument that 3 Justices don’t have the ability to reason, but not the 3 that voted in favor of the tariffs. Dummy.

That’s dumb. Tariffs are a part of foreign policy. What branch has constitutional authority over foreign policy?
