That is true.
That said, Pete Hegseth has got a very tough job laid out in front of him. It's going to be WAY more than a 40 hour a week job for him to get up to speed on everything he needs to know to manage the SecDef position.
He has a cushy job right now. SecDef will be a tortuous grind - and if it isn't a grind for him, then he's not putting in enough hours and he will fail.
Pete will be LIVING at the office. He might as well do what we did when the war started - put an army cot in our office and sleep there sometimes.
