If we do this by lowering the amount of regulations applying to home construction, then that’s awesome.

If it’s just giveaways to make believe things are more affordable, then I’m against it.

Is there some kind of crafty way he can help to encourage lowering home owners insurance.

Trump being involved in construction and real estate hates regulation. It slows everything down, has costly permits and drives the price up.

Federal backed mortgages just might be the biggest reason that mortgages are even affordable … in a true free market most people would be renters.

And then investors and private equity will put in cash offers, scoop them up and turn them into overpriced rentals.

I only support if they are lowering the prices by removing some regulations and bureaucracy but that’s about it. Government needs to stay out the free market.

We have a bingo, folks.

Just read it. It’s more of removing regulations. Environmental appliance changes that add cost. It’s reversing the Biden regulations.

To the extent the fedgov has a role.in Section 8 and FHA lending, they do.*

"Not an endorsement of either.

He blew this fix. The proper thing to do would be to cut any fed level regs. that increase the cost of building. Then start pressuring states to do the same.

What? Price controls work great! Why not just make all houses $100?

I don't like doing this shite via declaring emergency.
Get congress off their asses, make them do their jobs. Legislating like this so easily cuts both ways.

What world do you live in? You make it sound so easy yet completely ignoring the fact that Congress hates his fricking guts. You really think repubs and dems in DC are tripping over their dicks racing to the capital to get shite done for Trump??

Here’s a hint, he’s doing it this way because the way you wanna go about it has less of a chance of happening than finding a glass of ice water in Hell.
