The time to hit them for the hostages is past besides, we paid Saddam quite well to exact our payback in the 1980's
You're all over the place in your justification. Tell me what advantage we get at this time by inserting ourselves in their national seppuku?

Best i can think of is that if we help topple the regime, we wont be doing this again in 10 yrs, like has been happening over and over.
If we see the chance, im fine w bombing certain people to allah

If the intelligence ppl can confirm this is happening then it may be time for a B2 strike on wherever the Ayatollah is hiding.
Partner with Mossad and funnel weapons to the protestors and let them take care of it

Let's not forget this after the events in Venezuela now that China's discounted oil supply has been stopped. China gets 1.4 million bpd from Iran. Hard to attack Taiwan and otherwise flex when your oil supply keeps dwindling.

I knew two back in the late 90's early 2000's. Very friendly people. One of them worked for the other and had to leave his child and wife behind. Every year he worked some way of sneaking back into Iran and trying to get them out. The regime held his family back when he left in the late 80's on a business trip and would not allow him to return and also would not allow his family to leave.
Dude loved his family and talked about them all the time. I've not seen them after I moved away about 15 years ago. Seeing all this go on, I think about he, his boss, and both of their families.

Amazing how the left embraces Islam and our media is silent on this.

1. I do not want American or western troops on the ground.
2. A precision decapitation strike by bombers that are undetectable by the best Russian and Chinese made air defense system would be a major warning to Putin and Xi.

Then leave it alone. ChiComs aren't going to risk anything over Iran. We shouldn't either. There is no advantage to us getting involved or even mouthing off about it.

Also, the one thing ChiComs like more than reuniting with Taiwan is......making Taiwan and the US think that they want to reunify with Taiwan.
They know they can't force it because the US largely underwrites delivery of oil to China. We could choke off oil tomorrow if we wanted.

It seems diplomacy is more appropriate there. Besides that, I don’t see how attacking Iran is a warning to them, being Nuclear powers.

Two different things you said 9/11..... then you talk about Iraq. One thing they were involved with, the other they weren't. I'd agree with the Iraq portion. But we paid them back many times over. We don't talk about it and in some cases the American public ignores it

My family lived in Dubai during the '79 Islamic Revolution.
My dad was an electrical engineer working for an oil company. There were a lot of Louisiana baws in Dubai at that time.
There was serious concern that Iran would invade. My dad's company strongly suggested that their employees' families head back to America until things settle down.
My mom refused. She wanted to stay with my dad, and the thought of having to live with my grandmother made living under an Islamic state preferable.
Anyway, my dad's company set up a number of contingency plans.
If Iran were to invade, the first plan was to head to the airport. The company had a number of planes gassed and on 24 hour standby.
If you couldn't make it to the airport, they had boats waiting at a port that could ferry employees and their families to oil rigs in the Persian Gulf. And hopefully get them out of the country from there.
If you couldn't make it to the port, they had a few helicopters that could bring some people to the oil rigs.
I can't remember if there was another plan in place if all those plans failed. I just remember Iran invading was a real concern at the time.

McDermott was based in Dubai and Brown & Root in Bahrain. Some excellent weekend softball tournaments back then.

Looks like good timing on securing the Venezuela oil if the oil in Iran gets interrupted.
Venezuelan oil is long way from filling that gap. Luckily we are not using Iranian oil much.

In principle I agree. However, Trump has already injected himself into the situation by issuing a warning yesterday. The regime ignored that warning and called out Trump today. They are FAing and need to FO.
The problem with that is it’s utter confusion there right now. Where would we strike? What would we do? If we can identify military groups that are fighting against the people we could neutralize them, but can we?
