quote:Why is Biden even part of this? The question wasn’t ‘Trump vs. Biden in 2028.’ It was whether you’d support a third term. And is ‘better than Biden’ your standard for a president? Is that really your bar?
sharp? couldn't be any worse than biden the mental vegetable

No. There are no "one offs". Once you open pandora's box, it won't be easy to close and it'll be inevitably used by your opponents later.
Case in point: Harry Reid with the senate nuclear option for judiciary nominees, which then came back to bite the democrats in the arse when Trump got elected and the republican senate was able to get all of Trump's SCOTUS nominees confirmed with simple majorities, despite the tantrums from democrats.
But on top of that, Trump is turning 80 in a few months. He'll be 82 by the time 2028 campaigns start heating up. A theoretical 3rd term would mean he'd potentially be in office at age 86. Even with Trump, that's too old. We have good, younger candidates who are ready to step up and lead that I'd rather see the torch passed to in 2028. Let Vance, Rubio, or Desantis be the guy in 2028

Trump deserves another 4 years to act however he wants without worrying about a corrupt congress.
Why am I not the least bit surprised that you would be in favor of something that stupid?

Trump should be limited to 2x8 year terms. For all the halftards that means yes Trump 2028 and Trump 2032.

Considering he was cheated out of his '20 election victory.... he's owed another. All America was meant to be would benefit. All the Marxist, low testosterone , low IQ idiots can't comprehend this.
They somehow still believe the established system in DC will somehow "rectify " itself if Trump isn't around.
Pure idiocy. IMHO

Guy has 2 wins. That's all you are allowed.

Two terms is plenty.
Thank you, Mr. President.

Hell no. 2 terms max for anyone. We don’t need another FDR.

No, we have a great bench, Trump would be 7 years older than now.
Plus no president needs 3 terms.

I'm certain you're not. An idiot can't understand even average reasoning.
And if you are for Trump serving another term, you are a fricking idiot.

He wouldn't. He's f#$King with them.

Oh, he would if he could.
The problem is that anything that could be done to provide him with additional terms would backfire like a '64 Buick.
You get rid of the 22nd Amendment you wouldn't have a third term of Trump. You'd have a 3rd term of Obama. And a 4th.
You declare some kind of state of emergency and you guarantee that the next Democratic POTUS never leaves office using the same trick.
And despite what the mental children here think, the presidency isn't like whiffle ball. You don't get to call a "do-over" like you do when the ball hits the power lines. Even if you prove a stolen election 8 years after the fact.

Yet, Trump is the man who started it.
Many of the sentiments had long preceded even Trump. Anyone remember the Tea Party?
Many people long knew something just didn’t seem right. The establishment Dems and establishment GOP argued vehemently over window dressing type issues (they’d put on quite the show for TV) but the country seemed headed in the same overall direction, domestically and foreign policy wise regardless of who was in the White House.
What Trump did was give this sentiment a new name (MAGA) and a focal point to rally around.
But it’s not like people were generally content and happy with the ever radicalizing Dems on one side and the Bush dynasty on the other side until DJT came along.
