7 days is too long for either one of those cities

7 days is probably too long in either of those places. If you go to Vegas, you’ll need to go to the Grand Canyon and Hover Dam to stretch out the trip. I’d probably go to Miami. Spend a day in little Havana, a day in Wynwood and go to a Heat game, play golf, go to South Beach and Key West.

Maybe try something less touristy. I’d suggest Montreal and Quebec City, or maybe somewhere like San Diego. Depends on what you like to do. Music? Food? Beach? Mountains? Festivals? History?

Trump is a pretty nice hotel. And inexpensive too. The only problem is that the area it’s in is a complete shithole

It’s right next to the Fashion Show Mall. It’s literally a quarter mile walk down to Las Vegas Blvd and The Wynn and Venetian.

We just stayed at Venetian this past fall. Perfectly fine area. Especially with Fountainebleau opening.

Really trying to figure out what kind of trip you want. Do you want dining and night life? With some added beach and pool time? Those are great cities for that trip, but 7 days of that is a LOT!!! Maybe you're young and recover really fast. Additionally, those types of trips are VERY pricy. Like VERY VERY.

I personally (and seems like most people here) wouldn't like that trip. 3 days in Miami or Vegas is usually plenty. In Miami, I'd rent a car and go down to the keys for a slower pace and more real sightseeing. In Vegas, I'd rent a car and head out to Zion or the Grand Canyon.

I'm just not sure how you spend 7 days in either of those places. I know people do it all the time, but you're going to drop a big wad. After a while, one bar or restaurant all seems the same as do the clubs.

I would choose Vegas

Miami is so spread out and really is kind of a dump
A trip to the Keys and Miami would be better

Yeah dining and night life would be nice. Miami has a lot of nightclubs with sexy Cuban girls so that’s a draw for me.

I would chose Vegas, but either go to the national parks in Utah or Grand Canyon for a few off the 7 days

You don't sound like you can afford either of these trips and 7 days is way too long for both locations

That said, Vegas if you're dead set on these two options. Do two days in the city, then 4-5 out in nature by driving out to Grand Canyon/Bryce Canyon/Zion, however you want. Then if you prefer 1 more day in Vegas before you fly out.

If cost is a big factor then you shouldn’t go to either of those for 7 days. It’s pretty easy to drop a grand a day on food/drinks if you’re having a good time

Check out san juan puerto rico. More affordable than either vegas or miami but still get the latin vibe.

I agree with this. Make sure you go hike the rainforest.

Those would probably 2 of the last places on my list for a 7 day trip.

Miami is horribly overrated as a travel destination, there are much better vacations in Florida.

Vegas gets really old after about 36 hours.

7 days seems like too long for either place. As others said Miami is super expensive (on par with NYC), has awful traffic, and lots of crime.
As others suggested I’d pick a region and do a couple things such as Boston/Cape Cod/ Providence or Vermont/Montreal or even Denver/Boulder/Rocky Mountain National Park.

Boston is pretty expensive to visit isn’t it?

This board is great with travel advice. But the demographics of the Travel board isn’t equipped to discuss MIA vs Vegas.

Sure, you will have a few people that know one of those cities, but the overwhelming majority will tell you not to go to either or pick the one they visited that time ago.

TD travel board isn’t blowing up Vegas strip or south beach.
