Former Alabama QB Ty Simpson Receives $6.5 Million Offer

According to a report from AL.com, former Alabama QB Ty Simpson has received an offer to transfer for more than $5 million...
quote:

“At least one program has offered Simpson a deal that could total $6.5 million to play in 2026, according to one source with direct knowledge. Three SEC schools have also presented offers of at least $4 million and more for Simpson,” AL.com reported.

“The hot pursuit for Simpson is, in part, a reflection of the fluid quarterback market for the 2026 season.”

Simpson is considering all options.

“Several teams chasing a shrinking pool of elite quarterbacks, combined with the pressure to field a CFP contender, could drive up the price for certain players who have yet to transfer and/or are considering the NFL Draft and are seen as transformative,” attorney Darren Heitner said. “It’s basic economics where leverage meets scarcity.”

So none of this matters anymore. This era will not count nearly as much as before imo

Its an arms race, has little to do with the college or the state now

In the meantime Bryce Underwood throws another 'cept!

and this is why Nick Saban said "to hell with this, I'm outta here".

Guy is worth about 6.50 after the way he played against Indiana.
user avatar
In fairness he played behind an OL that couldn't win in Alabama 5A HS ball.

For perspective, Dart signed a 4 year deal at a little over 1M a year. Most of these guys won’t make it in the NFL so why not try and play CFB for as long as possible. He should take the 6.5M

Your information is way off. Dart's contract is almost $17 million guaranteed.
user avatar
This is nowhere close to correct. Sportrac dot com has Dart's final guaranteed at signing at $16.98 million with average at $4.24 a year. A first rounder at only a million dollars a year??? Come on.

He had flashes of a good-to-great QB but for 6.5$ million?! Holy hell. I guess Oregon (Phil Night Nike money), IU (with Mark Cuban) and all of the Texas teams with Oil money are gonna run CFB soon.
This shite is insane.

Very good not great QB, who in my opinion is not worth 6.5 million dollars per year. Let someone besides LSU pay this outrageous amount for his services.

And Capitalism will bring the inevitable correction. That's how it works. A thing like tech stocks or cattle gets over priced and Capitalism will force a correction. Many people will become disinterested and quit watching college sports because of the rent a team model.
So Bernie, don't be a socialist.

Go get that money, son. That's the name of the game now. Don't EVER let anybody tell you to "stay because you love your school" because IT'S A SCHOOL, not your Country, not your Family, not your God.
Get that money and you'll be capable of serving God, Family and Country all the better.
user avatar
More money than brains.
user avatar
That is anywhere from 5 to 20 million less than his signing bonus if he goes in first round of the NFL draft.

it will take the NFL stepping in because the talent pool is worsening to stop it now.

About to say frick it all. NBA is shite. NFL is shite. College football is broken 9 ways sideways. As much as I love it, this is the worst of any of these business models by a multiplier of 50.

That would be the team that would make the most sense. They desperately need a QB for next year and didn't get Leavitt.
