What advice, based on our national experience, would you give Iran re: new constitution?

The mess we have is of our own making. Our freedoms come with freedom to frick up and allow all kinds of shite that has zero benefit to our country. Loopholes in law. Rights that maybe shouldn't be in there. What would say to them if asked, "what would you change in the US constitution that would have avoided "fill-in-the-blank" issues later because it was exploited in a bad way?"

Oh boy... where to start?

I'd recommend a parliamentary democracy form of government

The right to bear arms should have been the 1st amendment. And don't make it even slightly ambiguous.

Do not make the mistake we did and let women vote.

you must have a constitutional republic that protects God given rights. Democracy is just mob rule w/out it.

LOL. There’s not going to be any new constitution. As people are beginning to discover, there’s still strong support for the Ayatollah system there. All the Persians against it moved Here. Thats why all the dancing and marching is in Los Angeles and Houston, and not in Tehran.
Are Iranians dissatisfied? Surely. Are they ready to erase the ‘79 revolution? Not by a long shot. This is the same reason Cuba will never be free: as much as we hate it it, and can’t understand why, there’s still strong support for the Castro revolution amongst the majority there. The anti-commies all left.

In fairness, it isn't an issue until they start getting fat, start wearing fishing tackle in their faces and begin dying their hair unusual colors.
At least 70% of women i know personally, vote the right way. The other 30%- well, they look exactly how you would imagine they look. I believe the Persians would have at least a couple of generations of women voting in their best interests before becoming too "Americanized" and watching The View.

Voting age at 25 and voting is suspended for welfare recipients.

IMO, they’d maybe function better under some type of democratic monarchy like other ME countries but without so much power given to the president. With that said, that executive power sometimes exists because there is such a wide variety of cultural/political differences in their representatives. Iran would absolutely have a shite ton of those differences.
I'd recommend a parliamentary democracy form of government

Yeah, I was thinking long term.
Truthfully, my preferred method of getting idiots out of government is poll tests.

Some huge demonstrations even in the face of thousands of deaths argue otherwise.
No doubt there are hard core supporters and they have all the guns, so overthrow may not be possible but don’t confuse that for popular support.
We could provide air support, weapons and civilian advisors that could make it possible. But until the people are armed it won’t happen.

1. Split the country into states.
2. Make state governments more powerful than the national government in domestic affairs.
3. Term limits for all elected officials. In addition to term limits for elected officials put a maximum of number of time that someone can work for the government (other than military).
4. RELIGIOUS FREEDOM AND NO STATE RELIGION.
