His tenure here was riddled with controversy and chaos within the athletic department. The Will Wade debacle started under his tenure, and he handled it wrong from the start. That was the point when fans turned on him. We had enough. Between that and Ed O packing it in after winning a NC, he had to go.

Herman was never coming here. That was a money play by Herman camp. Jimbo was never coming here BOS was split. (Great on both falling this way). His choices were promote O or hire Larry Fedora away from UNC.
Was @ a dinner he was @ one time and happened to be sitting next to him. Asked him about the chances of the Kristian Fulton drug suspension get reversed and said not a chance it will happen. More was said but don’t remember details. Less than a year later he is penning a letter to the NCAA to reverse the suspension. Somebody else came up with that not a chance it was him.

That, like O 2019, was a happy accident of incompetence in the AD post. You may not recall but the report was that Jimbo had agreed to come to LSU to be the next head coach when O was fired in 2016. Bullet dodged due to the AD trip up.

Can't stand how smug he was. And I do care what he did wrong at Duke. He was a prick for that and should have never been hired after that.

Totally botched firing Les Miles. (Twice). Then screwed up the search for his replacement. Hired Orgeron because he was embarrassed Herman stood him up.

Some of you are so obsessed with the Wade saga that you’ve let the rant convince you Woodward is actually a bad AD.
If you don’t remember the alleva years, consider yourself lucky. Woodward is significantly better.
Alleva was an incompetent asshat who should have never been hired to begin with. He and F King Alexander had no business at LSU.

He was a decent, not great, AD. Pulling out of the Herman sweepstakes was the right move, no matter what posters on here try to say. He was the right AD at the time, outside of keeping Les when he threatened to leave for Arkansas.

Hire me Van Chancelor and then Nikki Caldwell who he extended multiple times.
Fires Les, hired O. when he was fired (for the wade suspension) O was a disastrous looking pick.
You can argue he was right because O won a championship but honestly O then turned around and tanked our program once Dave Aranda and Joe Burrow left
So you have to wonder if we could have hired a coach who would have been able to win with all that talent and NOT tank the program immediately after it left.
