So after the SEC tournament at the earliest. Assuming we turn down the NIT bid if the NCAA takes 14 SEC schools.
Dude, MSU and S Car aren't getting into the NCAA tournament. No shot at 14 SEC teams getting in. No shot at the NIT

Amen. I just want a competitive team, a competent coach, a nearly full, loud PMAC. Would love to have tGeneral back but any mid major up and comer would run circles around what we have. I know it seems ‘expensive’ now but like someone said, the fan base is hanging by a thread. I am one of several that will be turning in my season tickets (had since the 80’s) if they bring MM back. So tired of being spit on as a fan by the AD and athletic department. They probably laugh and say look at these idiots that keep renewing their season tickets. We can run the worst LSU coach in modern history and they will still pay.

The thing is, it isn’t that complicated. It’s not football where there’s only a handful of high % hires who can handle the logistics of a big time program. Our fans seem to use a 1 to 1 comparison with football to basketball and that’s just so incorrect. There are a lot of good basketball coaches out there and filling out staffs and rosters isn’t nearly as challenging. You might get rebutted with “well that’s what McMahon was” but that’s also wrong as you have to actually vet the candidate and what his teams actually do. McMahon was never going to translate, some of us warned, but there are plenty that will.

If we make the NCAAT 4 of 5 years in the current era, LSU MBB would make at minimum 2x current profit. Those profits go to the whole. It's amazing to me how many fans are against that.

The NIT is desperate for big names and the Crown takes a bunch of non-NCAA tourney Big Ten, Big East, and Big 12 teams though they did decrease the size of the Crown field this season. LSU could absolutely get a NIT bid but it's less about accomplishment and more about how far the NIT has fallen. Also a bunch of self-respecting programs will turn down NIT bids. We have no self respect as evidenced by still employing a coach that loses 77% of his conference games so we might do it to pretend it's progress.

Yep. We are the best “play for fun only” program in the country. Our coach is such a nice guy. He always gives credit to the opponents that just kick our arse.

NC State is a tournament team, even if they finish with 5 straight losses. Their resume prior to the recent slump is pretty impressive

The damage to the basketball program is complete already. Financially, we are already paying a massive buyout for BK. We need to raise money for all the NIL commitments we have made. Ask, where will the money come from...
Honestly, I would rather have him stay on and finish his contract, so we can start a fresh....lets. save the buyout money....
Face it...LSU has never been a basketball school....

You cant be serous 3 more years finish last in the SEC and listening to Mr No Charisma say he doesn't understand why they are losing. The PMAC might have negative attendance numbers by then!

If you ever need to go on the run where nobody will ever find you, the PMAC under McMahon is your best bet.

And don’t forget about all the assistants too.

That is true. There is the possibility they decline, however.

She hates men's basketball (baseball mouth breather) and/or it's a racial thing.
The only other possibilities? Is related to or ACTUALLY is McMahon, or is ABSOLUTELY STUPID.
None of the above are good looks for her.

No shot at the NIT
The NIT takes two "exempt" SEC teams. It's the two highest rated teams across a variety of metrics (NET, Kenpom, BPI and others) who don't make the NCAA Tournament. If the NCAA Tournament started today it is likely Auburn and Oklahoma would be left out. Those would be the two highest rated teams to not make the tournament. However, if one were to get in, LSU would likely be next in line. Or, if Auburn and/or OU turn down an NIT invite, LSU would be next in line. IT DOES NOT MATTER that LSU finished last in the SEC standings. That is NOT the selection criteria for the NIT.
It's very likely Auburn, Oklahoma, or both would turn down a NIT invite. Thus, it IS very likely LSU will at least get an invitation....regardless of the outcome of tomorrow's game.

I just don't see how you can bring a guy back that has mode 0 progress towards building the program or making the NCAAT. There is nothing you can point to as a strength of his or the program, its just simply an awful product that has become a compete afterthought to fans, MM never should have been given the contract length he was given but scott was blinded by his own hubris. I get we had "LOOMING SANCTIONS" but MM wasn't such a great coaching prospect you had to bend over for him, move onto the next guy. It is what it is now, bringing him back for a lame duck season shows the fans and coaches everywhere that you really don't give a shite about basketball
that's why given the financial implications I think wade needs to be the hire....He comes in and generates immediate buzz and he's proven he can win here and anywhere he's been so far.
and seriously frick anyone like moscona that still tries to defend scott woodward, he was a colossal failure and attached the biggest programs to anchors costing the school/donors millions to course correct when both were easily avoidable.

I guess Georgia Tech and Boston College care more about basketball than Verge and Co, sad
