About $350.

*I do not mean that as a joke in this case.

Ours is double that and about half that cost, I'd shop around more.

You got me wanting to see what I am paying now. My cost has never been that high. I think less than $500. All insurance cost has risen lately, though..

I'm with State Farm, $3M umbrella coverage for $715 annually stacked on HO policy of $500k and high limits on 2 vehicles. $715 is very cheap if ever needed. No kids, that helps.

For those of you who have one; What is reasonable cost for a $1M umbrella policy I understand factors such as how many boats, atv's, etc you have will affect the cost. Mine has gone up to $1600 a year. Thinking this is unreasonable.

I did a million today with State Farm and it was $289 for the year. Saved me an additional $5 to $10 a month on my auto and upped my coverage from 100/300 to 250/500. It probably helped that I moved my cars and home to them so it’s all bundled.

I really don’t have insurance on any of my 4 wheelers or SXS since they are all paid off.

Damn! Too late for me to change:)

I’m closing on my house Friday and the insurance I had lined up said they couldn’t write in my zip code anymore because they were over leveraged. Had me scrambling for insurance this am and State Farm smoked everyone.

Can’t believe I didn’t have an umbrella policy before but never really thought about it.

In Louisiana, $600-1000/year for one driver with a clean record, 1 car, 1 house. If you’re in NOLA area, add 20%.

Auto accidents and youthful drivers will jack it way up. Extra exposures (secondary homes, rentals, recreational vehicles) will add extra as well.

Your cost is based on your liability risk and coverage... if you are paying that much for $1M then I would assume you have a ton of risk... (maybe youthful drivers, accidents, recreational vehicles, boats, rent homes, etc etc).

Also, your state has something to do with it as well. Umbrella's in Louisiana are gonna cost more for the same client than... let's say Texas. Louisiana courts love to award them some liability settlements.

Late to this thread. It shouldn’t be more than $400-$500 per million. One caveat, you’ll probably need to max out your auto coverage before getting the umbrella issued.

Is RLI good insurance company as in responds if you need them? I am with Geico but need to shop around. Don't have an umbrella policy but thinking I should.

Probably b/c of your underlying policies. I only have 1 auto, no kids, and my home. It would be higher, as others said, if you have other risks you are protecting. Definitely shop around though when your policy comes up for renewal.
