quote:I haven’t seen it yet, but I think Gilroy is on record saying there would be 3 episode arcs, which is why we’ve see more action-packed culminating episodes 3 and 6 that wrapped up 2 distinct plot lines.
Ep.7 is up. This episode didn't have the action of the mid-season episode & has returned to the slow-burn (which I don'tmind), but man, was this one well-acted!
So we should see similar with episodes 9 and 12.

I really like the Andor story arc but the whole story about post Order 66 and Empire on the rise prior to the rebellion is awesome in this series.

Mon Motha talking to the Banker was great. I am a fan of political intrigue, and that hit all the right notes. She is turning into my favorite character.
Love this show.

Andor continues to impress. A shame that the data shows people aren’t watching. I’d argue that this is the best addition to the franchise in years.
Just plain excellent storytelling with the acting, directing and sets absolutely on point.

The music for Niamos and credits was great.

When this show was announced I 100% rolled my eyes.
Boy was I wrong. This show has been great.

its pretty maddening how much better done this is (a show about a character no one knows or cares about) than Obi Wan was, which looked like the B team was working on it.
Kenobi is a rigid character tale, you have to stay within your lane with him. Most of his history is known, as well as his mannerisms and principles. He's a very visible Jedi, you have to stick with that.
Andor is a generic nobody who's in the lawless periphery of the story. Outside of the Fetts and spice trade, we know very little of that part. And he's not in that part, so literally everything is open- if you take the time to write the tale. It's quite clear that they DID take the time, and also they have the required acting talent in key roles to pull it off.
This show is brilliant.
I'm wondering, is the little cheap droid (B, I think)- going to be the transplanted AI that runs K2SO?

I’m on board with everyone else. Didn’t expect much but this is a legitimately great show. Have been really impressed.

Episode 7 was by far my favorite episode yet. While not as action-packed and thrilling as 3 and 6 (since Gilroy has written them as 3 episode arcs), it probably has much more political intrigue and just basic logistics in 50 minutes than we’ve gotten in 50 years

The Mon Mothma actress brings a stately elegance & gravitas to the screen that gives me Cate Blanchett vibes.
I need to see more. Hopefully her career blossoms after this.

Any chance that Kleya (Luthen’s assistant) is actually Cassian’s sister? Started wondering that after Maarva brought up the sister in this episode where Kleya had a bigger role.

I was considering the same thing.

Caught up on this weeks episode last night after the Pelicans game.
This show is incredible. I honestly didn’t know Disney was capable of this based on what they’ve given us so far.
All the political storylines are fantastic, and I can’t wait till Cass breaks out of prison.

that's the vibe you get from her in the short time you see her in the OT. Crazy how trying to keep a character from the OT true to their character goes over quite well.
She's probably the person i'm most interested in seeing more of on this show. Every scene she's in gives me anxiety, and the only reason for that is b/c we know who and what she's up against, and even though we know she comes out on top, its easy to understand the immense pressure and worry she was under constantly. The fact that this entire series, as well as Rogue One can give you anxiety watching it, and you can feel the pressure, is a testament to the writers, directors and actors, b/c we already know what happens, we just didn't know exactly how it did.
and frick the idiots that were in charge of Obi-Wan.
I don't know what this actually means (something with the daily demand compared to other titles, whatever that means), but it does show Andor is well below the other Disney+ shows.

I don't care. You can keep making shite like Obi-Wan if it helps bank role Andor, which is really easy to see is a very well liked show by the vast majority of Star Wars fans.

To re-use the word previously used in another post, this has gravitas. Disney has shown they will suck that out of SW and the MCU to appeal to the masses. We haven't seen a show like Andor and in the MCU you haven't seen a movie like The Winter Soldier in a long while. It's just how they operate but hopefully this will spark some change

I’m so glad I gave this show a shot after being a little Star Wars fatigued. Its fantastic. Any true Star Wars fan appreciates the daily conversations they are giving us with the Empire and behind the scenes look at normal things.
I’m not surprised the ratings aren’t huge, I barely knew about it until it came out so I don’t feel like they promoted it as much as the other ones.
Plus, there are no A-list Star Wars characters to get behind.

Major kudos to Diego Luna as an Executive Producer on this show.

I hope this changes, Andor is really, really good.
Mandalorian, Andor and Fett (yes Fett) have really saved Star Wars.
Obi was a bit of a mess, with some of the best scenes. They really just shite itself all over cannon, just to be shocking.

I think it has to do with Disney is a company marketing to kids and even Lucas when he made the OT he was quoted as saying it was made for 12yo children not adults. I saw SW as a kid and this series is the first I feel grew with me as an adult. It left the childhood status behind and shows SW has aged well to meet the version of the more mature audience they grew up loving SW.
