I bieve this is one of the reasons why former President William Tate was forced to bring his talents up north to Rutgers. Alumni noticed and they had enough. "Holistic" admissions will eventually end this university, at least as far as graduates ever wanting to send their kids there.

My youngest went to another SEC school and it’s nothing like LSU, even with a large population of northern kids.

It's not just student admissions. The pattern of admin and faculty hiring takes a holistic view also. Not-so-good candidates are being hired at all levels. Don't expect improvement to come from the inside. Demands attached to donor dollars might have some impact.

Ever since 4 semesters of mandatory ROTC class was dropped in the early 1970 period, life is pretty much gone to poop. I bet the average LSU student does not even own a pair of black lace up shoes, much less know how to shine them. And their brass buckles got finger prints

I was responding to you saying students have just changed. If that were the only reason, the student body at those schools would look like LSU. Comparable SEC schools (similar size, urban areas, etc) did not. My two older kids graduated from LSU and it has changed drastically thanks to F King and his push for holistic admissions.

Proliferation of student loans. Makes college more expensive, more apt for bullshite curriculum, more peripherals for non-education concerned accoutrements, and a for-profit like mindset that can outweigh educational focus. They're trying to let everyone in order to get everyone to pay.
