Ignacios:
I can't imagine classifying Buc-ee's food as "bad taste", in either the literal or metaphorical sense. What it lacks in charm, it makes up for in convenience and value.

For what it is? It is brisket on a white bread bun. And it is spectacular.

Never, ever underestimate the power of copious amounts of MSG.

I was there from 6pm to 7:15 pm.

They had two giant inflatable beavers flanking the store.

I bet we passed each other.

Did you get your free sample of Beaver Nuggets?

I got a Brisket sandwich and some sea salted caramel beaver nuggets.

Tasty for sure.

I was there today and enjoyed a brisket sammy as well. Damn good but I had the worst heart burn for at least 5 hours after I finished.

Honestly I’m not quite sure I get the appeal of the Bucees.

I respect, but strongly disagree with your opinion. Buc-ee’s is the fabric of Americana and the heartbeat of Texas, with delicious barbecue and jerky. God bless you and mother.

It’s a giant gas station.

The newer Love’s travel stops with the built in restaurants are better places to stop (unless said restaurant is Subway or McDonalds).

There's a few LA posters in here who are big mad about the state still not behaving any Buc-ee's locations.

We used to meet to go duck hunting at the Buc-ee's in Wharton, TX. Nothing is better than a nice, clean bathroom prior to going duck hunting.

Before they became the rage, the big draw was cheap ice for offshore guys heading out at the one in Freeport.

That’s not quite as asinine as thinking Whataburger can hold In N Out’s jock strap. But it’s pretty close.

Spectacular? You must not have ever had really good brisket. It is good, not spectacular.

I stop at Terrell and ennis locations often. BBQ is decent, vanilla pudding is decent, drinks are cheap. Best price around for Copenhagen. Get non ethanol gas in ennis for my yard stuff.

What’s in the bud-ees outside of Texas? Like the ones here have a bunch of Texas themed stuff do the Alabama ones have the same stuff or what?

This is the kind of thing that makes it great. Its not a destination place, but if it’s already on your way it’s awesome. It’ll be great to stop there on the way to Atlanta, but anyone who drove all the way there today from Gardendale probably thinks it sucks.

I saw mostly a lot of Bucees themed stuff. Didn’t see much Alabama/Auburn stuff.

The gas prices are good, but the people willing to pay excessive amounts for bad, cheap food are subsidizing it

Uh yeah, it’s called convenience. And what’s excessive? It’s cheaper than whatever brisket sandwich you’ll get at a restaurant. It’s fresh. They slice it right in front of you.

You can get whatever drink you want there. I’ve found beer cheaper there than at liquor stores or other gas stations.

Their Beaver Nuggets and whatnot are just candy. Tastes better than a damn candy bar.

The jerky is good too. Once again, where are you gonna get better jerky off the interstate?

There’s no debate about the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Doors that go to the floor win.

This is about 10 mins from me and just down the road from my mom’s house. I’ll be stopping by there soon. Not sure what the appeal is, but I’m intrigued enough to go.

Good breakfast sandwiches too. I like an iced coffee and breakfast croissant.
