I need to play it this time.
Maybe I'll get lucky.

I quit playing. Got tired of all the winning.

If you buy lottery tickets using the same numbers every time, you better not miss one. How would you feel if your numbers hit, and you didn't buy a ticket that week.
I almost never buy lottery tickets, but when it gets really high like this week, I will buy one ticket. The biggest leap in odds that you can reasonably make is when you go from zero tickets to one ticket.

I got pretty close. I only missed 5 numbers and didn't get the Powerball.

When the lottery became legal in SC, my husband and I bought a couple of tickets. Once. Never had the urge to do it again.

60yrs
$6/wk is $312/yr
60yrs of that is... over $18,000
All for...

No thank you.

Someone needs to win so I can stop playing. I'm tired of going to the gas station every few days
I never understood this. I know this is the OT but is the $20 million starting jackpot not enough for people?
Everybody talks about buying on large pots but they act like 20 million is chump change.

That's my butler's annual salary ...
So after taxes ... not worth it

The odds PER DRAW are the same, but if you are playing the same numbers over multiple draws, the odds of winning for those numbers increases with each additional draw. If you play the same numbers once, the odds are one in a billion or whatever it is. If you play them twice, it’s two in a billion, etc. I’m not suggesting this makes it smart to play the lottery (it is dumb) or that it makes it likely you will win (it is so unlikely it is literally difficult to comprehend how unlikely it is).

Starting off at $1.7 billion on Saturday
I think it will get close to $2 billion by then

I play when the take home is over 350….million.
Good pot odds
Good pot odds

How glorious would it be if a strong white conservative would win? Donald Trump winning would be the greatest thing ever

Did you ever take stats in college?
If I flip a coin 9 times and get heads every time, does that increase my chances for tails in the next flip?

I got the powerball and won a whopping $4
That’s the most I’ve ever won in the power ball. But I don’t spend over 10 bucks and it has to be over a billion to even lure me to the store.

sure, but that $18,000 spread over 60 years is $312/yr or $6/wk..which is also basically nothing

but it amazes me how many people don't know that even buying 1,000 more lottery tickets doesn't really increase the chances of winning that much. 1,000 / 292,000,000 = 0.000342% vs 0.000000342 % chance of winning.
For two dollars everyone that participates get to wonder how they'll spend it and that's some mighty cheap entertainment these days.
And less than a tip for bad service.

What you gotta do is play the same numbers every week. $6.00 per week from now until you’re dead. Improves your odds of winning a lot. You still probably won’t win but you have better chance doing it that way than playing different random numbers once in awhile.
