Unless the Iranian military begins killing citizens, I don’t think you’ll see any military action against Iran. I think the build up of airlifts in the region is in preparation of the fall. I think we are staging huge amounts of essential supplies that we can then begin to flood into the country in the aftermath. It’s preemptive to prevent any sort of humanitarian crisis

I think our (and the Israeli) initial involvement will probably consistent of blockades, getting supplies and communication equipment in, and letting the current leadership know we know exactly where they are. Could then follow that up with targeting IRGC targets. That will hopefully incentivize them to make plans to leave.

Also an overt warning to Iran we are prepared to move in. I would hate it if we had to shoot down the Phantoms and Tomcats they got from us long ago

Let’s not split hairs here. We are not launching military action against Iran for a few dozen civilians killed around the country.. on the flip side a large scale military campaign against protestors with large amounts of indiscriminate killing would change that. I don’t think this administration is going to sit on its hands while the regime massacres people in the streets

Iran has still not been adequately punished for the hostage crisis. Divine justice is sometimes delayed.

Well, they have a few hundred dead per multiple reports that have actually been able to get out.

We need to secure nuclear sites.

A few hundred dead when there are millions in the streets isn't anything major. That can be written off to trigger happy frickwits. The Trump admin is talking about major offensives against their own people.

I'm more interested in what Israel does...
I doubt we take the first shot into Iran.
Israel might...

Not my country, we shouldn't be doing anything.

Does the US need to be punished for overthrowing their government and installing puppets that led to that?

The US should at least take control of the airports to prevent the Regime from removing the material wealth from the country on the way out.

This might be enough to tip the scales.
I’m still on the fence. I gotta see the ayatollah in cuffs, a noose, or in a bag.
