No, it wasn’t. The republicans have put forth some truly terrible candidates so far

Dr. Oz, Hershall Walker and his secret children,

True. The Religious Right put us in a bad spot as true conservatives/libertarians.

And the GOPe at places like National Review are lapping it up. They are still talking abortion when they should be hammering the economy and international affairs. But they can’t. They are stuck on social issues.

On purpose. They don't want to win because they would actually be expected to do something if they did

I have said this since 2006, they dont want to win, this is why they let bad candidate's run.

Even when they won in 2016, they did nothing significant

If Democrats went to McConnell and McCarthy and said let us keep the majority and you can blame your defeat on Trump and the ultra MAGA they would say,

"Where do we sign?"

They see Trump taking credit for any red wave and if that's the case they would prefer it not happen at all.

Lose and get rid of Trump or win and be stuck with Trump.

I think it's very plausible.

Trump is coming win or lose.

Republican leadership don’t want to win with MAGA candidates because they can’t control them, making their jobs that much harder, assuming they retain leadership positions.

Republicans would rather stay in the minority.

They are disheartened by the recent MAGA wins: Lake, Finchem, etc.

So far, I am more concerned about Trump/MAGA Republicans in the midterms. We shall see if candidates like Herschel Walker and Dr. Oz can get it done.

Oz is getting curbstomped.

I think Roe was rightly overturned, but it will definitely help the dems in Nov.
Bad timing politically.
Thanks Mississippi

Abortion is not issue except for the zealots who would never vote GOP. Inflation, shortages, overspending, CRT, etc are more important than some slut getting an abortion.

It actually feels like active sabotage, and the far end of the party cheers.

Bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch about libs, the democratic party, and then doing the exact opposite of what is needed to beat them.
