Yep. they wouldn't let Trump do recess appointments. they all went to a corner and licked their own balls when Obama did.

If they let Trump. He may appoint Gaetz and Gaetz has the balls to release the J6 and crossfire hurricane documents from some IG tCTH is talking about---- that shows they were ALL involved and in on it. ask Marco Rubio and my former Senator from NC, Dick Burr.

Ken Doll Thune and Speaker Peabody like the govt shut down, they want Trump to take a hit, as he sits frozen to work. Don't believe it, look up the only got damned work they have done. Try to stop tariffs a few times because their lobbyist is on their asses.

They are feckless and should all be summarily dismissed. MTG dumped MAGA for the view. Trust no one.

The filibuster may suck, be bad, cause complications, be screwing people up right at this moment, may give too much power to one senator, be misused, be unused, be abused...

But it's not unconstitutional.

If they made the opposing party actually do the work of filibustering, it wouldn’t go on for as long as it does. The fact they can just say filibuster then go home (or on a trip) is the problem. I think that if you’re going to vote no on ending debate, then you need to stay and debate.

This X 1000. It is performative obstruction. The obstruction is real enough, but the methods dot require any true conviction to implement or sustain. If they were forced (by rule) to actually sustain debate and were only able to bring up things relevant to the legislation being debated, then these things would get sorted out much quicker. It’s infuriating to see our “elected representatives” invoke a filibuster and then not be made to carry on the debate. The bonus is that whoever invokes and performs a filibuster would have their argument on record for everyone to see. Not that it would make a difference given the intelligence and attention of our voters as a whole, but it would be amazing if they were forced to have their argument on record so everyone could see how intellectually weak some of them truly are. (Not that we do t have ample evidence of this already)

The filibuster rule is unconstitutional. It requires that legislation pass by majority except for a few specific items (example, impeachments).

The filibuster applies to the cloture motion, not the actual vote on the legislation.

No, the Senate voted 12 times to end debate and have a final vote, and failed to get the 60 votes required to end the debate.

It's not unconstitutional. The constitution gives the Congress, both houses wide latitude in how to conduct business. It does not prevent the President from using his veto power. Only delays it ultimately if no deal is hashed out.

It's another thing you should be grateful to McConnell for

A Senate rule need not have "concurrence" from the House.

I am told that you were once a reasonable poster, but this Constitutional theory of yours is just as crazy as any of the "theories" we see from the worst of the Trumpist crazies.

None of this would be an issue had the GOP launched competent investigations into the 2024 Senate races in Michigan,Arizona,Nevada and Wisconsin. The Dims stole 4 seats. I'll die on that hill.
